Help! stuck in Half Life - Long Jump won't work.

Got the jump suit - went through the portal to Xen (or whatever), the floaty islands bit in space, and the duck-jump long jump doesn't work. Can't proceed without it!

So I went to the tutorial bit and tried it out there - not working at all. I wonder if one of the infinite patches disabled it at some point.

Does anyone know what to do or how to fix it?

Even with the latest patch, the long-jump still works on my pc... I would think that worst case scenario would be to uninstall and reinstall half-life again, but maybe keep on trying, it is tricky sometimes...

I did, but in the training area when I attempted the duck jump it said "make sure you have picked up the jump suit" which I had. So I was doing the right action. I can only do a little hop from duck - as though the suit doesn't work.

So looks like I'm completely screwed. I don't want to reinstall as I don't want to go through a million hours of patching again.

There is absoluteley no alternative but to long jump the floaty island bit. I can't believe I've got so far to be thwarted by a sodding platform jump.

If you do decide to reinstall, just remember to save your saved games somewhere, otherwise you will really be bummed...

Dont worry about it. Half Life sp is quite fun when you're fighting the soldiers etc, but when you get to the alien bit it's crap from then on.

I finally did it - I didn't realise you had to be running forward just before you duck.
