can someone tell me how to do the following.

there is going to be a button at the middle of the bottom of the page, that when presses will make the txt box at the top right record their click, thus with each new participant that clicks the conter goes up.

Your'll need to use some kinda server side script for this.

I see you have PHP stuff installed on that Apache server, so I'll leave this to some PHP guru.

If you have the image between <a> tags and have the href of the <a> tag that points to some php page which does the add counter bit. Then just re-direct the browser back to whatever page.

There are a few ways you could do it, some of which avoid re-direction.
