Doh, in that case the answer changes to not very often, you can check ATI's webbie but I don't have an ATI so I'm not sure. I would point out that there is a Bios update for the video board which fixes a lot of problems people have been having recently. Normally dell won't include these when they ship it

I remember when I bought my 8100, I set myself a limit of £1000-£1200 but wanted similar stuff to you (Games/DVD) so I got a loan for £2000 but then went and spent £2400, Doh

I now know what you mean my £1300 has grown to £2000.

Will it be decent at latest games though, just wondering?

By the way I am using my student grant as an interest free loan.

Yer, I was talking to someone who has just got an 8200, he said he gets better fps in BF1942 than he did with his desktop machine.

It'll be ok :)

I see the external extigy sound product for laptops going new on ebay for about £60 ,is it worth it, I would like to watch DVDs in 5.1
A lot of people says it is serverely limited by nature of it's USB connection, others seem to disagree, anyone got actual experience of it?
