The problem would seem to be the routing in the 195.14.*.* machines. I did a traceroute to 195.14.128.42 and ran into problems at 195.14.129.82 (Opentransit-fr-cy.cytanet.net).
I'd say you need to moan at cytanet.
Oh yeah, and those first two pings (assuming they are internal) ain't too impressive.

here's Dr TdC's diagnosis:

his ISP is doing an aol-alike where they have a huge internal network running reserved IP's. This 'internal' network is connected to the 'real' internet through strategicly placed 'portals' [maybe even a single one]. If he happens to be routed to a 'portal' that is a high-traffic/overloaded/has-a-shite-uplink one, then he's f00ked :(

btw Flatus, if I trace that thingy I get routed to greece via london and new york :D

SObs, the hardest thing is speaking to cytanet as theyre all about as tech minded as a banana 8(
what excactly should i tell them?

oh and btw, thx 4 all the help so far 8)

also ive just thought of something else, i have 2 connect through a proxy, will that make a difference?
