Help! - CS guide

I'm finishing off updates to my CS guide "S.A.S's guide to counter-strike". You might of seen it when it was on barrysworld. Anyhow I'm stuck on the patch bit. I've been out of the loop a bit so here's the problem :/

Joe (boxed version of CS): He installs it and then... ? How would he go about getting latest patches. I guess he just downloads steam? Or not? :/

Bob (Had CS mod upto version 1.1): He reinstalls it and needs new patches. Steam again?

Any help would be highly appreciated!

In both situations i'd say yes, get steam. Sooner or later WON is gonna be switched off, and the majority of players are on steam now anyway.
As it's a CS guide then you should recommend people to get hold of a steam download with a full cs cache, it'll cut down on patching time after installation.

SAS, theres really no other answer. Get Steam, it sets it all for you.
