If any of you lot can help me, I'm running a 2600XP on an Asus A7V600 mobo as a second computer for mucking about on, and I'm buggered if Win XP will install.
I get to the point of pressing F6 at the start of the install so I can install the SATA driver. Then i stuff the floppy disk in, it asks what type of SATA drivers I want installing, I choose Win XP and then it says:
file \winxp\viasraid.sys caused an unexpected error (18) at line 2108 in d:\xpsp1\base\boot\setup\oemdisk.c.
I have no clue what this means. Is my CD-ROM buggered? Is it my mobo? Is it my copy of Win XP?
I'm getting desperate, I've already sent the mobo back for repair once because someone said it was a dicky SATA controller, but its doing exactly what it did before.
If you can help me, I will say thankyou
