this morning taking the little whipper snapper to school, i put my foot on the clutch and it stayed there, i had to use my hand to lever it back up again, i can change gear if i only put it half way down but if i press it to the floor it stays where it is, its an old cavalier (L) i have no clue as to if its a servo or a cable or whatever, hence my post here, do i need a new clutch or what?

Would say its a cable driven clutch. I would take a guess at a spring sticking. Shouldn't cost you too much to put right chum.

Could also be that the cable is rubbing against something.

Don't forget to oil all linkages, including where your clutch pedal pivots.
