Help all you CS pros out there!

I have CS 1.0 a version that came with half life 2 weeks ago when i bought it! The console didnt work so I went in to the config.cfg file and changed console=0.0000 to 1 so it was on! When i went to log onto a game in the CS Browser it tried connecting to a game 4 retries and then said cant connect and wouldnt let me online for any games to play! Ive had to change it back to 0 and it works again! can some1 help me get my console working please as im desperate for it!

Odd one, but it's not console= Try setting it as:
console "1.0"
in your config.cfg

I tried doing it but i cant find my config.cfg file

it should be in [halflife directory]/cstrike/config.cfg
