I've done a lot of reading in the last month and (like most people) have formulated opinions of characters based on their posts. You're right, I don't know why Glynners was targetted in the first place, I only know a gang of Quake2-ers ripped him to shreds in a couple of threads which went on forever.
Reading the threads, you both seem as bad as each other (except that you are perhaps the most arrogant and patronising) and unless he shagged yer mother I don't see what the guy did wrong.
I wish someone would tell me.

It all started months back with an accidental ban one of them (slicer, mitche, glynners, who cares) and they have continued a vendetta ever since. Let me cast your mind (?) back a little Perplex. The threads that actually did start everything.
Slicer starts it of with this:

The quake 2 community knew a lot about SLiC3R because of his past experiences with them, and as you would of seen in slicers thread, they hated him immensely
It was because i was a m8 of slicers that everyone then started to hate me. I then got pissed of with all the abuse being thrown at me (and on top of that, i was banned form #quake2.uk for no reason, and the #f00fighters channel kept being invaded by tons of twats from #quake2.uk). Hell, even someone from #quake2.uk disguised himself in a slicer alias and started flaming KingBean, but we sussed it werent slicer as he didnt know bean's real name, where the real slicer would of.
Anyway i was pissed of with all the #quake2.uk cunts and abuse and so i took my anger out by starting the classic #'quake2.uk cunts' thread, which contained all sorts of arguements.
True i did take a bit of a battering. It isn't easy when its me verses about 40 other people trying to break me down, but i stood firm and replied to their comments the best i could, and they never once properly owned me. I think i did bloody well on my own, with a little help fomr others.
