with how to solo a sorc + bb from lvl 20

i've just started them on alb/pryd just to get the feel of playing a caster ( NEVER EVER HAD A CASTER ) ;D
and so is there anyone ther who know's where to exp/lvl from 20 with a cleric bb? remember though i don't have anything but free stuff from start


and how should i specc from start and so on , need help real badly i wanna get some time of from the intense farming scrolls and lvling arties on mid/exal and just have fun and play

As a more casual player on this new adventure you will probably be soloing a fair bit and groups when you feel like them so a solid solo spec + group options is a good place to think from.

Body/mind split spec sounds like a good option for you, however this can be tricky on a Sorc until mini-ding points. Body will give you spec nukes, AoE root and Dex/Qui debuffs, mind will give you messing, crack, Str/Con debuffs and most importantly charm spells.

I would recommend that you keep mind high enough so that you can always charm even con pets, these buffed with your cleric will tank well if you find some pets that work well with your play style.

Guide for spec’ing would be:

L11 – 8 Body, 7 mind
L16 – 10 Body, 12mind
L27 – 16 Body, 17mind
L41 – 26 Body, 32Mind
L50 – 40 Body, 36Mind

A sorcerer will never level fantastically fast solo but will be very steady as with a good pet and all the CC and utility tools you will have such as randomise levelling is very safe. Groups will always like you for crack and CC, the only really problem that AoE mes’ing high con mobs can be a problem for a sorcerer due to the PJs that you wear for armour if more than one resist even you will be surprised how fast you die. To help with this always have a pet charmed and set on passive handy (in and out of a group), this can be used to get agro off you in a crunch and this should help keep you breathing a lot.

I hope you enjoy your dabbling in sorcery, it’s one of the few well balanced chars in the realm and if played well a lot of fun; though one with the shortest life expectancy in RvR ;-]

assuming your buffbot will always be grouped with you id suggest keeping mind at abotu 2/3 level and body as high as you can with the rest of the points seeing as youl be getting adds with you, pet and bb in group.

There are few body weak mobs that are good to exp on in albion much to the dismay of the common sorc so you wil have to regularly have to put with neutral or negative dmg bonuses.

At level 20, id go keltoi grab a pet and kill in various rooms/get into an ant room group or summat. A buffed pet, even at level 20 can handle quite a lot but remember any dmg the pet does will reduce the amount of exp you and your bot get so try to use util pets instead of pure dmg ones, for example there are mobs in keltoi that heal, altho with a bot its fairly irrelivant.

From about level 30 go to lyonesse and do those dunters or whatever theyr called, catacombs is ok, but it can get a bit hairy in there with pet pathing and aggro.

As soon as you cna handle it get into barrows and do some stuff there, if you are purely soloing its good and if u can find a group its good as well. Also DF is, as ever, a great place to exp for cash+equip from level 20-50 but ofc its not always open.

try to keep mind at a high enough level so you can sharm yellow con pets and have decent mana regen - this is a must, unless by some cunning stunt you hve an ML5 bot

hope this helps, i mainly goruped my own sorc to 50 but thats cos i did it many a moon ago when solo expers were thought to be a bit weird!!

Also at level 45+ or so u cna realistically solo in AVC if you have good enough equipment, get traldors oracle as soon as you can, 5% cast speed and the 5% dmg bonus are pretty uber when charge is up and remember IT NEVER WEARS OUT so use it al the time and never repair just let it get to 70con and itl be fine, youl keep mot of your focus bonus, all toa bonuses and charges etc.

Thats about it, there a myriad guides on the web giving exact locs/mob levels for all classes but i dont have any direct links at hand, google is your friend

If things haven´t changed drastically, the lowest mob in AC is lvl 48 (those drakonian sneaks at the entrance)... so it´s gonna be pretty hard to solo there at that lvl.

level 50 is cap for sorc charm no matter what your mind spec is and speccing 50 mind would be somewhat silly

Unlike a mentalist or a minstel charm a sorcerer charm is 'perminent'.

I.E. Ment/minst charms a pet upto about 1-110% of their level and once every 6seconds there is a nother charm pulse (like a chant or song) to recharm the pet. If the pet resists more that 2 pulses in a row you will loose charm and the pet and any agro the pet has is transfered to you (eek).

A sorcerer charm is differnt however. You cast a charm spell on a mob and one of three things will happen: 1) you charm the mob 2) it resists charm and nothing happens or 3) it will agro on you ( have QC and Mes on the bar with charm spell in case)

Resist rates on charm depend on your level of Mind spec and +mind skills if >2/3 your level mobs should very rearly agro if they do resist and should get charm first try most times.

*IMPORTANT*

Once you have charmed your pet thats it - it's not a pulse/song you have a pet for life (very PC) however unlike a pulsing charm you can only charm upto 100% of your level << NOT OVER >>.

This is both good and bad as there is no range check on how far away your pet can be for re-charm / pulse checks and the pet will NEVER agro on you and will remain yours until: 1) it dies 2) you die 3) you release it or zone.

There is an additional problem... why i suggested these rather odd specing suggestions:

L11 – 8 Body, 7 mind
L16 – 10 Body, 12mind
L27 – 16 Body, 17mind
L41 – 26 Body, 32Mind
L50 – 40 Body, 36Mind

Pet charm spells are in Domination (mind spec line) and he is the descriptions from the original Prima guide (yes I bought it with my game on release and it is so funny to read there is so much wrong in it!)

all Power 25%
Cast 4 seconds
range 1000 (iirc)
NB: originally only human-like, thin is a later patch more, and now ANY mob even undead and magic

MIND spec

L1 Persuade will - charm mob upto L10
L7 Coerce will - charm mob upto L15
L12 Compel will - charm mob upto L26
L20 Control will - will - charm mob upto L40
L32 Wrest will - charm mob upto L50

So if you want to keep the ability to charm even con (100% of your level) you have to keep mind spec up to what I have suggested above; and hopefully you can see the difference now between Sorc charm and Ment/Minst charm.

Body spec sorcs cannot have the L45 spec nuke and the 50% heat debuff (damn you Mythic) and charm a mob upto L50 as they can only spec mind upto 29 and hence only charm mobs upto L40.

I guess this it to stop a sorc from be having both a high level pet and low power spec nukes and the L35 one is not so bad in PvE and RvR when power is a problem but gets resisted more (role on mastery of focus).

Pets will never be capped, a sorc will be capped by yellow con buffs from a lvl 50 cleric with the +25% buff bonus.
But a lvl 50 enhance bb with +25% buff bonus will buff a pet more effectively than a lvl 50 cleric with only 36 or so in enhance.

eh? glottis did you read what i asked ?don't seem like it


on mid a shammy with 38aug with MoA2 and 25% buffs capps all speccs except acuty and all bases except base str that is 92 instead of cap 94.

what i asked was is if i specc my cleric bb with yellow specbuffs will it be enough with MoA2 and 25% buffs to cap the specc AF buff? or does that particular buff have a higher cap?

What Glottis was saying is that there is no cap on pet buffs, so your pet will still benefit from higher level enhance buffs - you were talking about "fully" buffed pets the line before you asked about buffs after all - if you want "fully" buffed pets, you need more of enh+toa+mota etc than you do to cap buffs on a player .

On a sorc yellow con buffs will do, although I'm not 100% sure about the AF buff. But Pin will know.
