Hellgate London: Final Thoughts

Ok, having completed this on both normal and nightmare I have to say its the biggest pile of shit i've ever played - good points and bad points listed below.


Good Points

-Its something new that we hadn't played before FPS meets Diablo2 clone.
-The story line was decent enough
-The classes are very fun to play (only got to play 3 of them but i'm sure the others are fun aswell)
-Its quite a decently sized game and will keep you going for awhile (unless you go without sleep like me *cough*).

Bad Points

-Way to easy for an FPS player.
-Gets boring after completing it the first time round
-The pvp is utterly abysmal (few classes that are so underbalanced they literally cant kill shit regardless of spec)
-Theres way to many bugs, even for a new release the amount of bugs in this game are well and truely beyond a joke.
-Some pve areas haven't been thought out properly (Monsters that 1 shot you and are able to move 3x your speed making it impossible to get away from them and they also have massive hp pool - Not even ignite can kill them before they drop you )



Anyone else noticed any annoying bugs within the game yet? please share

You over-played it from the start.
You played it like a pure FPS.
You lacked the patience to find out what those "1 shot monsters" did and how you can counter them(probably got resistances down the pooper).
If you want variation too much, this isn't the game for you.

It's diablo, with the good and bad, day in day out, same scenes, same mosnters, same stuff, collect and repeat.

Lol, you think the game is the biggest pile of shit ever. Yet you played it over and over? And so many 'good' good points and still biggest pile of shit!? im confused!

Personally i didn't like it, hack'n'slash is a bit to much 1990. I want more out of my games now days

i think the most fun thing for me was running through places like covent garden etc. I always like it when you watch a movie or play a game that has places you know well in them

Not to mention the running and shooting in 3rd person is rather, "in your face zombies f*ck you!" style

If you are having inspirational problems, make a character named Samuel L. Jackson, make it look like him, wield two guns and go ballistic on the zombies!

That's a nice little list, but not quite what i meant. I D2 you had endless variations of items with the prefix and suffix system with magics and rares as well as a horde of unique and set items. The list above doesn't even come close to that.

Well there are rarer and the classic D2 style "rare common unique" item thing in there to, i think.

And all have modification cababilities aswell.

Think of this moments item list as, starting D2 list.

Hellgate is in those first baby steps now.

Yep! I find I am enjoying finding new items and upgrading and modding my current items. And I love having two pistols on my Invoker and running around like Lara Croft!

Only problem i see though, is the subscription which doesn't seem to give anything, but takes away alot.

It's a weird combo i know.

Anyone know actually what the payment will give you?

Seems like it's a great game, if it was free of charge completely, but as such, tabula rasa might be more interesting to pay for.
