We had double glazing put in about 5 years ago (we live 50 meters from the M25), which included the replacement of the front door, and all windows in the house. We had a conservatory built by the same company. Generally, they're pretty good.

So this salesperson knocks on the door and asks if we need double glazing. Already done.
Conservatory?
Already done.
Shutters?
Dont want them

So anyway, our front door has a fault (no auto lock mechanism, have to do it manually with a key), but we just deal with it.

We put him on the spot....

"This door wasn't installed by our company" (sorry, but LOL!)

"Err, what, yes it was. We have paperwork to prove it."

"That must be a different company with the same name" (again, LOL!)

The paperwork logo and and the logo on his id card match 100%

"This door is older than 10 years, so no warranty"

Nice try, but we've only been living in this house for 8 years, and living in the UK for 9.

Then he runs away :worthy:

So, what's the most pathetic excuse(s) you've ever heard from a salesperson about a defective product?
