Heavy handed modding?

I've noticed recently a lot of posts being moderated by Cadire for "childish" behaviour (though I'm not sure what constitutes this as they're usually modded before I see them). Up until recently very little was moderated here unless is was really over the line (not talking a bit of profanity here, things like porn links and people selling accounts etc.)
So why the sudden move to moderate the boards to the bone? One of the things that is good about these forums is that the moderaters take a light touch and don't leap in with the mod-stick waving in a frenzy of censorship.

Anyone else think that it's a bit too much, or am I just overreacting?

I've been trawling through the forums and I've been editing personal attacks. They normally take the form of "you c**t", "You fu***", whatever. I would call that childish, and I don't believe my editing was over reacting.

Of course people may complain to the admins if they wish, and I'm sure they'll revoke my Mod status if I've over stepped the mark.

Klavrynd. I remember your original picture posting. I also recall editing another post containing it. I have no favourites as far as that goes... you're all [moderated] for posting that type of pic.

I dont notice much, the odd swear word here and there doesnt seem to be moderated, only full on abuse as far as i can tell, they are doing thier job as far as im concerned

If I saw that picture you know I would take it down in a second, so don't think that was just an attack on you because it most certainly was not. People have been moderated since for posting that picture, and will continue to be. The only fuss was because you started waving your Its My Right To Mock The Disabled And I'm Being Repressed banner, and not because of any secret campaign to drag you to the gutter.

And my god, this forum is hardly moderated to the bone. I think you guys need a quick tour around the VN forums...

In my opinion anyone who would actually want to impose rule on others in their spare time obviously have some serious problems.

Why not try cutting yourself with a razorblade or something, I believe that gives oneself a feeling of control.
