Verona in "10 thing I hate about you" :<

On the one hand I liked his acting…on the other hand, drug overdose is kinda his own fault :/

Shame, he was a decent actor and actually enjoyed a few of his films.

I reckon there may be a bit of a delay in the batman films, however it will be released with a "In memory of" addition to the start (or possibly end) of the film.

Tragic. :(

Seems he was having problems sleeping and took one too many sleeping pills, a lesson to everyone.

RIP. really sad thing to happen to anyone. by all accounts he was just coming into his prime as an actor, too.

on the other hand, drug overdose is kinda his own fault :/

way to make a useless, uninformed and totally insensitive comment. people overdose for all sorts of reasons.

Oh yes, I bet I totally hurt people's feelings, cause I bet all of his family and friends post here on a regular basis…oh wait.

Now stop twisting around what I wrote, cause you know exactly what I mean if you activate at least two braincells. I can explain it for you, though, if you want. So here again in slow-motion with more details: "I think Heath Ledger was a great actor and I liked him a lot, but if he wanted to kill himself, then it is indeed his own fault" ok?

Hang on, there is no indication that this was a suicide attempt, to the contrary it seems so far. People take accidental overdoes every day and sleeping medication is so potent that it should never be sold over the counter but sadly in America the rules are pretty different. Until it is proven to be a suicide you really should temper your vitriol.

first time i laughed out loud in a few days. liloe once again proves him/herself to be completely devoid of a brain.

Now not even a "RIP" thread is safe from flamewars? Oh dear.

Sad to hear it, whatever the reasons, causes or methods regarding his death, he was a good actor, expected to see more from him in the coming years.

What a shame :(

sad to hear , RIP

saw him in knights tale, was a brilliant film. not really followed his career a lot though to be honest, but nonetheless its a very sad day for a great actor with so much potential.

Its sad, but at the end of the day he did play a gay cowboy ;< which most news sites claim to be his best work.

It's lame that they mention one of the gayest / most disliked films ever for his best work, he was better in A Knight's Tale.

All the shooting for the Joker is done on Batman now, they hopefully won't reshoot with a new actor.
RIP.

shame people who have so much tend to go blow it all by doing drugs i mean he was only young and had a little daughter, i hope it wasnt a drug related death but thats what they are speculating on the news :/

An accidental overdose of sleeping pills is what they are saying, which is sad but if it was an overdose of cocaine that would be much worse.

knights tale was good but cant say i care or am bothered at all at his death.

people die every minute of the day, the only thing that makes him different is that hes 'famous'.

big fucking deal.

Sir Edmund Percival Hillary, died on the 11.01.2008, where's his thread/news reporting?

Let's face it, nobody actually really "cares" that much. I doubt anyone's been in tears/emotional distress over this.

Yes it's sad, even more so for his child/family. Show your respect by all means, but it certainly isn't the end of the world.

Anyone up for waiting for their leader to cop it and then we go dance on their grave and trash their funeral? I certainly am.

not likely - the big deal is that he was a very good and promising actor. for people who enjoy films this is a loss (at least to me). it has nothing to do with him being famous. yes people die every minute of the day - to the people who have not heard about him and cant get the news he's just another person in the queue - but to others he isnt. thats the big fucking deal.

no, if i didnt know of him i wouldnt give a shit. everybody is famous in some circles, its just a matter of how fame is defined.
you're claiming that its his title as 'famous' that makes me care i claim its the fact that he's a good actor in my eyes

Hmmm, that's a point I didn't notice that! I do remember a thread about it but personally I couldn't tell if they were being satiristic or serious!

And btw the package DOES spell "UR MR GAY" if you count the letters which have stars on them!

Either way I hope it doesn't real, I got the impression it was from that Church of hate thingy.

Either way, I hope he has a respectable funeral which avoids any upsets.
