Recently i woke up and noticed i had this smth wrong with the hearing in one ear due to the thing you get when flying in airplanes or going deep diving. Now it has been around 2 days and its still there.

Just now i tried rinsing it with some hot water and then shake my head a bit to see if it helps. And it did, but only for a few seconds. First the pressure goes back to normal but then it goes back to its original annoying state. Its like a bubble in there which breaks when i fiddle with my ear a bit but then forms in a few seconds again.

HEEEEEEELP I DON'T WANT TO BE LIKE THIS FOREVER DO SOMTTHING!!!!!

Welcome to my last 6-12 months.

I got checked, liquid build up behind my left ear. Took weird nose inhale ear thing, didn't work. Got on a plane to France, ear popped and I could hear. Now am back in the UK, and once again my left ear has gone kerplunk. Not a horrid amount of hearing loss, just like 10%, need to get ear shringed when I go to doctor.

See your doctor.. Tell them you've taken nasal things and they've not worked, and you're worried, they'll sort you out.

Sounds like a real nuisance :( Anyway what does "shringed" mean? You mean syringe?

Had a similar thing. My right ear was constantly popping and trying to sleep was a nightmare. Went to see the doctor, they said rinse your ears with warm (be very very careful to make sure it isn't hot) cooking oil to break down the wax build up. I went in there, got them hosed (essentially a syringe which squirts water into the ear) and it made me hear perfectly again.

Not completely sure what caused it but it's worth going to see the nurse, just to get it checked out. If it's that, you're in luck because it's a quick fix and there is a high probability of it being a fluke occurance. A friend of mine also had the same problems and had the same solution.

A quick phone appointment should ge them to confirm this or they'll ask you to go and meet them but this sounds pretty much spot on for what I was experiencing.

If it's anythingelse... I pass.

Yeah go to the doctor and make sure its not an ear inflamation, that can cause a permanent hearloss. Had one a few years back, felt totally fine cept my ear, went to the doctor got some anti inflamatory stuff, got better in a few days.

It might be worth a visit to your GP, or at least the Practice Nurse.
It might be a simple buildup of fluid behind your eardrum, it might be a slightly perforated eardrum or it might even be a partially blocked Eustachian Tube.

My dad had a blocked Eustachian tube in his left ear when he was a teenager. It built the pressure up so much that his eardrum blew out, taking out the ickle bones that enable hearing. So yeah, that's an extreme case, but with one of your main senses there's no point taking risks.

I can hear heart humping in one ear and one ear has a light case of the tinni(nothing major, just when it's quiet), probably pressure related too.

Or it's 'cause i hear the freaking "iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii" from the refrigerator from the next room all night, and it's just a regular fridge

Bear in mind wax is water resistant so washing it out with warm water isnt really effective. Go to the doctors and get them to suck the wax out with a cool little machine they have

Hold your nose, shake your head, move your jaw about, swallow and try to blow through your nose. You'll feel your ears pop.

All the tricks in the book to equalize for diving afaik.

I am not very trusting when it comes to "those guys". Arrogant pricks that think they are so awesome, all they do is tell you to "undress and i´ll brb" just to get the upper hand. All they really do is guess making but he is only a single guy, but we are FH, for we are maany!

Not to mention, they ask you to turn your head, cough, give you a prescription for some generic stuff, tell you to eat it and then tell you to f*ck off.

All this in 3 minutes.

Since i have it too, i think we have an epidemic! :eek6:

I bet it's TdC running about the world like santy claus and giving a meat-prod in our ears with his popsicle :(

Go to the vets

You need antibiotics, anti-inflamatories, or some procedure like syringing

Washing it out with water won't work ROFL. Nor will shaking your head, using a wire coat hanger, invoking the spirits, drilling a hole in your head, holding your breath, getting naked whilst licking an old woman's bra, or anything else anyone has ever said involving lubricant.

Did actually help washing some water and pressing my palm against the ear repeatedly. At first i got my hearing back 100% but it reverted to its original state. Washed some more and used my finger to somehow restore the pressure to normal.

You might just have an ear infection. This needs antibiotics. Just don't get amoxycillin - its useless.

Phone appointment with a nurse and it'll be on the road to being fixed very quickly... simple really.

you might just have mucus behind the eardrum. Try steaming

ha lol yes I had this for about a year, I also had severe vertigo and would fall over and get motion sickness while not actually moving anywhere...kind of put me off flying anywhere again tbh.

Oh and the tablets the Dr gave me actually made it worse when taken long term, which he neglected to notice and I had to go for brain scans and allsorts before they figured it out Oo

dont waste money on perscription antibiotics.

you can grow penicillium mould on bread. get a stock going, eat a few slices and see what happend.

you might ingest a few other fungi and some toxins like afla toxin, but youve got a bad ear so those are the least of your problems.
