i dont get it:(

Its not brain science

The second girl (Diana) was supposed to be this quirky unique individual. But only a year before the first girl (Amanda) looked the same, sang the same, wore the EXACT same clothes, even had the same hand gestures

Different outfit(except that they are white'ish and both are dresses, and both girls have stockings(shock)), sounds different(has a quirky sound to it on second) while the first is more basic country style, hand gestures MAY have similar feel to it(that's singers for ya) and the only thing same about the look is the hair being blonde. Hell, even then the split is different and the second girl isn't AS blonde.

You're grasping.

Yes, they are similar, but you were coming off as they are carbon copies.

There's a nice lil quirk to the second singers voice, the outfits are not EXACTLY same, the hair is SIMILAR but not same.

The reason people look and go "ooh copies!" is because of a 2 second first impression.

It has nothing to do with the cop-out(you disagree!), but for once i can say that my detail spidey-sense is useful.

These two are similar in a "shakira and aquilera are similar" way.

Also, using this as "proof" of something being "faked" is rather far fetched. Only thing it would proove that people have, in general, similar taste. Big shock there.

If you watched UK Factor you would see why its staged. Diana was supposed to be this quirky, totally unique singer that no-one has ever heard her like before

Well the voice is, haven't heard that kind before atleast.

I'm only disputing the carbon copy claims here, i'm not saying they ain't similar.

The voice is clearly different though, but that might be 'cause i might hear it.

But, idols, x-factor, all these singing competitions turn the artists bit or more towards the same mold that sells a lot of idols/x-factor CDs.

Only way you could really have a SINGIG contest, would be to not show the singers at all. Radio would be perfect media for it.

Or have competent people actually making the choices about who stays and who goes, and not have every person in the country with a cell phone having a say about it.

The plebs wouldn't know talent if it bit 'em in the a*** :)

Too true.

Watching the finnish idol this year, while i usually don't, made me groan more then once of the audiences choices.

So.. we should keep making generic crap to keep the masses happy instead of challenging them and maybe break down a few barriers in the process?

Dunno about other countries but in Denmark we have public service channels (government funded stations) who should be obligated to make quality television, but still they pour out crap such as "X factor" and "So you think you can dance".

Ofc PS channels should also broadcast mainstream programs, but these days mainstream seems to be the only choice on the telly.

she wasn't "quirky", she was just imitating the fucking girl form the Cranberries, delores oriaden (sp)

she should have sung "zombie" for her 2nd song and never gotten voted off, although i would rather chew my left testical off than watch xfactor

Aye, much like the gaming community who complains anally about there not being any innovative or interesting games, while at the same time waiting for PES 2008, FM 2024 and Halo 4 - The Umptieth Edition.

I was hoping JLS would win the X-Factor personally.

They had such a nice style about them - a gap in the market for sure.

Alexandra is just another Beyonce, Leona Lewis, Whitney Houston etc. etc.

Thats great and everything but it does not bring in advertising cash does it? This is on ITV (commercial TV) which exists to make money from advertising. They can put whatever they like on so long as it makes money from advertising, pandering to the masses does exactly that.

You assumed. This causes epic fail and i'm the first to admin I've done this.

I had no idea what the link was other than they looked kinda similar. I did not know Diana was supposed to be quirky or unique. I am going to remove your present from under the tree and give it to Tohtori...it was a job at Microsoft...but lets be fair, he'd have taken it anyway.
