Haven't played in a while

Alright I haven't played in about 6 months or so. I recently got DSL and reformatted my computer. I have the retail version of cs and it is patched to 1.0.0.3 and halflife is patched to 1.1.0.8. Anyway, I can play halflife no prob, and I can play the training mission in CS. When I try to connect to a server in cs it says that the server accepted my connection, then it says that thing about scanning my HDD for cheats...but then it never connects...it just runs out of time and kicks me back to the server screan. Anyone know what's up with that? I just played tribes 2 and the DSL worked fine.... but I can't get CS to work...and I love CS... and ...well hate tribes...!

Try typing retry in console.

You could also add "-no ipx" to your command line, since this may speed up the connect time slightly.

Alright sounds good...I'll try it. I would really like to get this thing running tomorrow so I can play somewhat over the weekend. I need to have it installed by the 18th though when that new Desert Crisis mod for halflife comes out (notice none of my halilife based games work)... www.desertcrisis.com personally I think this new game could be better than cs. It has some cool features.

Sorry, just realised, dont have a space in noipx. Also, defrag your drive, although if your drives just been formatted it should be clean

BTW, with respect, Desert Crisis is NO WAY a CS beater. IMO, obviously.

hehe...well...the noipx thing worked perfectly...i don't know what it did...but it worked!

Given that they've stolen 80% of their ideas from FLF:
- Capping of points
- The Cap bar
- Team icons above peoples heads, even the same triangles ffs
etc

Also delete the custom.hpk file in your cs dir. It can sometimes grow to huge proportions, storing all manner of custom sprays in there.

You have CS retail and HL installed together? Why? Thats a waste of HD space. Either install just CS retail and use it to play other HL mods, or install HL and use the mod version of CS.

Because I honestly don't care about wasting space and I had the disk handy....oh well...not like it matters...If I need to increase my space I'll buy 2 new 80gig 7200rpm HDD's and replace my existing Raid0 aray with them. It's an excuse to buy more stuff...see
