Hard time getting a group?

This post is mainly about the lair (again).

I've been at lair for quite a few days with a good group who start early afternoon each day. I know many ppl know this and as soon as I log ppl start to pm me for a spot. I get about 3 mess/min for ppl wanting to join but its really hard to get in. Yesterday 1 non-healer got in the grp. When I tell ppl how hard its to get a spot you might think that they would try organising a group of their own, but no...they rather wait! Some ppl have waited for days to get a spot in this grp and this is unacceptable.

My advice it to get a group of your own and there are alternatives to the lair. A dubbel group (16) gets around 16-20 on each red and 25-40 on purps. The xp in these groups are good, but not OMG great.

There is a small army of level 40-45 ppl logged on the hill next to the lair, try talk to them and ask them to form a group. The healer issue is by far the hardest to work out. You need 45+ healers to deal with the lair Drakulvs. A smaller group gets the same xp doing Svartsalfs and don't need as high healers. To get a healer in Midgard is about as hard as killing the Dragon.

So the big question is how the hell do I get a grp. There are two ways. The first is to try to get into an existing group and that is the hard way imo. The second is to create a group of you own.

If you trying to get into a grp there is one golden rule. "If you don't bring anything useful to the group you won't get in". A lone hunter or SB, have small if not no chances of getting a group if they dont look 5-6 lvls below their level. Try teaming up with a RM or healer and and you will get into a grp ALOT easier. Joining a grp with lower level might not seem as a good idea, but you'll be helping them out and in turn making some friends which could be useful later on. And xping with lower lvl will get you some xp, waiting at lair won't.

Creating a group.
The most important member of the group is the healer. The lvl of the healer pretty much descide which mobs you can do. Getting a healer is ALWAYS number one. All lvl 50 healers are either in Emain slaying Allbs and Hibs or doing alts. And lower healer are 95% likly to be in a grp already. The only thing you can do is wait and try messing them. Try ppl lower then yourself so you aleast do something other then wait.

When you got one or two healer try getting RM and tanks. That isn't really hard. I've never hard of solo ppl turning down the mess "Hi, got grp with 2 healer for xp, wanna join?".

Next step is holding the group together. Ppl in general don't care about the group in itself, they want xp and drops. As a grp leader you have to provide those or ppl will leave you group for a more attractive grp. Listen to what the grp thinks and ask them what the want to do. Ask them how long they are going to stay, if they planing to join another grp later and so on. If you know when the healer have to goto bed, then you can try getting another healer well ahead and minimizing the downtime. Plan ahead and keep the xp flowing, then you got your grp.

Be nice and fair to ppl. If you promise to join one grp and get a mess from an uber xp grp in malmohus. Take the first grp. The uber grp will easly get others and the ppl that mess you first wont be angry at you for letting them down. If you behave bad or get angry try to control your feelings. No one will grp with whiners and idiots. Greedy ppl also have a hard time getting grps. Give away what you don't need and ask for things that you do need. Ppl who want an uber drop for their lvl 5 alt, don't make any friends. And its annoying it hear ppl asking for every single drop.

Finally a big thx to all healers doing a great job helping the rest of us.

Well, thats is I guess...

you've just highlighted the whole reason that healers are hard to get...

we have the same problem getting support classes for our groups in hibbie. it's just boring to help the others do the damage i guess...

that and the fact that one of our most usefull support classes (warden) is gimped beyond belief! :D

Wish it was difficult to get a healer in Albion/Pryd :(

I have a 33rd lvl cleric, and apart from a group last night that lasted ooh, 10 minutes maybe, it's solo all the way :(

Only time anyone is interested is when they have died ......

Beginning to wonder if my 'solo, looking for group' option is working
