hard time figuring out stats effectiveness....

i really wonder how big a role some things in daoc play...

ok, i am a 50 wiz and currently trying to figure out what artis, realm abilities etc i want.

dex = spell speed, quickness = reaction? and int = both dmg and amount of power for caster?

and apart from that is spell haste which goes up to 10%. and then, there are the realm abilities...abils that give 3% cast speed bonus per lvl, and 3% more dmg per lvl. Is there a cap to all that???? this 3% cast speed is additional to the 10% from TOA items? i read somewhere that spell cast time cant go below 2seconds? i dont think thats true though from my experience. i mean i think most buffed peeps cast spells about 1s or maybe less.but if there IS a minimum time for casting then some things might end up useless. like, if u go for lvl5 mastery of the art (spell haste) and 10% from TOA items+the dex from ur items then u could reach the time cap without any other dex buffs. Also, is there a cap to how much dmg a spell can do (without critical dmg)?

Can anyone give an equasion or sth for these things? sth like: casttime = original cast time - sth......
same thing about spell dmg

quickness dont do anything for a caster, well except making you hit faster with the staff and you dont go around and staff ppl to death anyway

the 10% TOA Cast speed bonus is capped at 10% but you (could) add MoTa to increase it, oh wait no you cant, they removed it in NF =(
so 10% is best you can get.

int gives you more dmg per nuke yes... i believe there is a cap before crits, although tbh with resists the way they are these days without both power relics and uber buffs or a debuff youd be hard pressed to hit it consistantly

minimum is 40% of the base time of the spell. So for base nukes it's 1.04s, specs are 1.12s, AEs are 1.2s etc.
Leaving aside mota (as we lose it soon). The cap for casting speed is reached at around 400 dex and 10% TOA. Depending on your race and starting stats 400 dex may be easier or harder to reach. Most people will need aug dex 4 or 5 to hit the cap.

Int boosts damage and power pool, however only item based int counts towards power pool. Int from an acuity buff is for damage only.

In terms of damage bonus stacking, everything stacks. There's a cap on actual damage done which is 3*delve (for instance 629 for a 209 delve spec DD). Extra int doesn't affect this, nor do relics. TOA bonus and the mom RA do affect it however (so with mom5 and 10% toa your cap on a 209 DD is 795). Hitting your cap is not that hard, as long as your realm has all 3 power relics, without them you'll be about 20% down. That's before resists so in actual combat unless the target is debuffed, or has no resists you'll hit for up to 50% less (TOA resist piercing helps here).
