Personally? In a situation like that my girlfriend would probably lie and laugh even if she gets hurt - she has seen me twice loosing my temper and doesn't want to see it again. If the hit is hard enough for her to get aggro I would unleash the hell.

I would argue against standing around waiting for your girlfriend to react before you do - sometimes you need to be the man - take matters into your own hands when someone assualts ya missus dude - either phone the police or deal with it yourself - dont wait for her permission ffs - its almost like being overtly politically correct to the point of madness.

The guy who hit the girl might well have reacted like he cared if it was an accident, and it looks to me like the Girl was more concerned with her boyfriend doing to much damage and getting nicked. I didn't get the sense she was worried for the 2 blokes and was trying to protect them.
