Aaaah saturday!!

I've just edited my report so it is under the word count (allowing me room for plenty of quotes!) now I'm going to get ready to go for a run then come home, bath and make the Mother of all breakfasts... oh yes, it shall be known as the fat bastard! Do a little more work on the report and then pack it in by about say 11.

Then later I'm going to make some halloween decorations out of modelling clay, put up me other decs and make a H/ween card for the family... then we're going for a walk to a country park to see the autumn.

Phew!!!

Gotta fit it all in today because tomorrow is solid work on this blasted report!! Hope you have a happy and productive weekend folks!

Well I just managed to get out of bed, my body needed a long sleep to get over Thursday night. Had an hour in the steam room and jacuzzi last night to relax, which was great.

I now have soccer AM on, and have ignored 4 work related phone calls (where I really should be already). When I do get to work I shall be streaming a few of today's footy games.

Out tonight for a meal and a house party for a friends birthday!

Lazy git!

Been up since 9 this morning, spent most of that time lazying around, watching some tv, catching up with a few mates. Now its an hour of Fallout 3 and then Sunderland vs The Brummies.

Then off out tonight for a few cheeky beers and a curry, who could ask for more ?

Just recently got up. I'm very hungry but I'm too lazy to go to the kitchen to get something to eat.

under the word count

Do lecturers actually count the words ? Surely not. Would they really care if you were 500 words over ? How would they know ? Like if you double spaced it and used a strange font ?

Read this tomorrow if you don't want to think about work until then :)

It's worth while finding out if not already done, what style of referencing the course adopts. If you use Harvard for example (think most do, hence why I'm saying this), titles, quotes, tables, acknowledgements, references and the bibliography don't count towards your word count.

I got away with a 15,000 word dissertation after having already taken out the bibliography/references by putting as much info as I possibly could into tables and diagrams where necessary; so long as you don't take the piss, or unless otherwise stated, it should be fine. While it might not be fitting for your course, it's worthy of note anyway :) Oh and the other thing is the percentage of slack they'll offer you...again, it's usually 10% either way.

Make sure you get this confirmed by lecturers though; would hate to find out you got marks taken off because of some random persons advice. ;)

As for me, I've just finished getting rid of 989 errors in my program so I'm back on track and a lil happier with my work. Have set these two weeks aside to just work so going to be staying in myself though :( First time since I finished my course so tis a strange feeling...

Have a good weekend anyway :)

they might if you have to submit it as a text file rather than printed out

well if you go over 10% of the w/c you can lose marks and I am buggered if I am going to do that lol.

Ther referencing style is APA and I got that all nailed, Bibliography, tables and Appendices don't count in the w/c but I found a shed load of good quotes to include (to demonstrate the bredth of my reading...you can do an excellent assignment but lose marks for not having enough refs, shit eh?) which bumped things up a notch because sdly in my course quotes do count towards w/c.

...and tbh I love doing the old slash and burn editing, it makes me feel really ruthless hehe

as a last resort you could take your 30,000 word essay to your lecturer, show him the vid of you shooting a magnum, and asking him whether he feels lucky punk

:)

you have to make it usually size 12 font for most uni's and the tutors have a size guide showing how much how ever many words should take on a page excluding references/bibliography, you can always go under or over by around 1-400 words depending on who the person marking it is :) but any less or more its completely obvious and you'll get a percentage taken off your mark.

me and my mate went to the art gallery in town just for something to do. we then ended up joining in some interactive exhibit. there was 4 of us adults v 5 kids and we played win lose or draw for about an hour. then we played a game where youre blinded folded and have to stop a stopwatch on exactly 10 seconds. someone managed it.

then we were in a privaledged position, stood behind the mayor of ipswich on the steps of the building as a parade of scottish soldiers played the bagpipes and drums outside. followed by a war time medly. the rest of the public were looking in from outside, haha.

Woke up Saturday morning at 11am. Coffee + french baggels. Some home duties then went to Pilates class. Lunch with parents. Went to footie game at 17pm. Man of the match but we lost 2-3. Shower. Drove 40miles to mountain cottage where we had a nite BBq. Ate a lot and drunk even more. Went to bed at sunday 7am in the morning totally hammered.

Just woke up. What time is it?

Cor, possibly the longest weekend ever!!

I'm beyond belief that the report is done(ish) emailed it to the checker @ uni who will hopefully have a squizz and send it back with comments/suggestions on how it can be improved; good eh?

Had great lunch; ginsters chicken and bacon pies (big 'uns not the individual ones) were reduced at Tesco so we got 3 and had one for lunch with mash, cauliwobble cheese and gravey ...Yum!

Now B2 has gone off to stay with his folks for a few days while papa2 has a small op. so I got Tequila Towers all to myself...might watch a movie I think!
