I dunno where u getting this from people 'banned' from flying the flag, I've never heard of it. My local gets the whole front covered in one, must be nearly 20 yards long, and the height of the building. They'll be pubs all over the country with them outside.

Well..

Last night there were a people celebrating out in a pub next door to my mates house, they were going on about immigrants and they all had St George capes and silly hats like the ones you get on St Patricks, and they kept going on about an article in the metro about a town in the UK which has only 1/4 people who are english.

Anyway, I started talking Polish to them and they soon shut up, I only know a few words though but they got the picture. I felt uncomfortable to engage with these people in english cos they were loud and blatently racist and they got everyones attention while shouting - and the shameful thing is they werent there to celebrate history, they just wanted to celebrate being english and making a statement or something that this is our country and nobody elses, which is just ammunition for those of a minority to expoit even more, which is wrong.

I see it as people resorting to racism becuase thats the only way people take notice when your politicaly incorrect, if you genuinly have an aurgument, noone is gonna listen cos it's not politicaly incorrect enough to get anyone into a discussion in my view. If your a racist then people moan and you get noticed and punished for it, and if you have a general opinion or argument without being racist, nobody seems to care.

Prob is, like Hawnkinds poiinted out, that some of them (i hate patronising) cant get over things that took place like 500 years ago and get offended by it, even if they imply national traditions.
I dont mean to celebrate Saint George, if i'd live in a muslim country, and go all over the place with a christian red cross, but for fucks shake, if my ppl has been celebrating in my land something during years, as long as its not offending in a logical way (like dunno, Saint James actually going against moors or something), well, if they are around here and they dont like it, guess they already now where the nearest exit is.
And I want to stress that i dont mean offensive traditions for them (which im sure there might be some and i wouldnt like), but heck! when you travel abroad you are better trying to get used to the traditions and way of live over there.
Thats something I notice: some of 'em dont seem to accept it (again some of them, i dont like patronising). Those just want to live in a better place than their origins but doing exactlythe same stuff they used to do over there, and thats not right IMHO. You move abroad and you adapt to the new place, thats the rule for me at least

And just for the record, one of my friends got spat at, and told to "go home" (even though he is 3rd generation) for having an england flag yesterday as his skin tone wasn't up to scratch
Fortunately bouncer saw it all and he was removed with his mates, no idea what happened after that but i was half expecting a BNP rally outside when we left

i saw a cherry picked group used to further a agenda or just things downright quoted out of context/made up in every case, i have yet to see a recognised body or any majority of muslims say anything to that effect

Im not siding or anything, and to be honest, there are christians who are MUCH more fanatical than any muslims.
