I know its over a month till Halloween, but already got an invite to a Halloween party and I've been told to bring a suitably themed CD of music.

Anyone recommend some spooky tunes ?

Examples I have already:

Zombie - Cranberries
Red Right Hand - Nick Cave & Badseeds
Bad Moon Rising - Creedence Clearwater Revival
Blue Moon - Bobby Vinton
My Beautiful Neighbourhood - Space
Ghostbusters - Ray Parker Jr.
Thriller - Michael Jackson
Highway to Hell - ACDC
Theme from Halloween
Time Warp - Rocky Horror Picture Show
Number of the Beast - Iron Maiden
Monster Mash - Bobby Pickett

Mind's gone blank. Must be loads to choose...

Rob/White Zombie has plenty.

Boogie man being one.

Perfect ! Awesome choice. Cheers Toto :)

(Must be some decent tracks from The Crow too. Remember that movie ? The one with Brandon Lee in it...need to check track listing from Amazon.)

Some of those choices are gay as fuck :p

Just slap in any Lordi/Murderdolls or Frankenstein Drag Queens in, I mean who can go wrong with such classics as "Your mother sucks cocks in hell" or "Give her to the monsters"

But Monster Mash is always a good one ;)

Tool, Rob Zombie, Slayer, Cradle of Filth... :)

Anything other than death speed thrash satan grindcore industrial metal ?
Looking for fairly mainstream stuff. A little bit of heavy stuff ok, but its got to cater to a 30s crowd. Not a bunch of antisocial 16 year olds. Thanks anyway :)

Industrial Metal, atleast some parts of it are very halloweeny, each of the groups do have a few songs which could be liked by most crowds, just finding them is the hardbits. No offense taken really, as I only listen to Tool and Slayer from that list.

Best bet would be to google OSTs from the best horror flicks that've come out and steal some of them. (e.g. Sweet Dreams (Manson) from House On Haunted Hill)

Ozzy sounds good.
I personally can't stand Meatloaf - apart from when he played the villain in 53rd State with Samuel L Jackson - but gotta cater for the masses I suppose...

Ooh is it costume party? I'm already working on my Cruella De Vil costume :) I need to decide on a new one though, as my friend now demands I wear it for his birthday instead of halloween. I'm thinking Crazy Jester.

Quality Stephen Fry quote

I suppose it all began when I came out of the womb. I looked back up at my mother and thought to myself, 'That's the last time I'm going up one of those'".

People are Strange - Echo and the Bunneymen. From the classic vamp pic 'The Lost Boys'
Psyco Killer - Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense (best version imo)
Beech boys - Monster Mash. Classic.
Ramones - Pet Cemetary
B52's - Rock Lobster
REM - I walked with a Zombie
Ray Parker Jr - Ghostbusters. Shit but what the heck its a halloween party.
Charlie Daniels Band - Devil went down to Georgia. Only C&W song I can tollerate.
Inspiral Carpets - Devil Hoping
Highway to Hell - ACDC. Another classic
Lil Devil - The Cult
She Sells Sanctuary (Howling Mix) - The Cult
Thriller - Michael Jackson
Time Warp - Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Also shit loads by the Mission - Iron Maiden - Ozzy.....

how about you DL some horror movie theme tunes and have a game of name the movie?

some notable classics are the tubular bells from exorcist and similar to haloween, in the house in a heart beat from 28 days later (saw 28 weeks later the other day oh ffs what a bad movie i mean >.< ), friday 13th music and the elm street, that song off gremlins etc etc you know what i mean

anyway thought seeing as your a l33t bunch of 30s you might appreciate something along those lines, have a nice time anyhoo :)

i brought my studded dog collar yesterday and intend to wear it as often as possible on the premiss of wearing it in for haloween.

Halloween by the Misfits (although the AFI cover is better imo)
