Did anyone see the programme on channel 4 last night ?

Not half as disturbing as the weight loss guru with his leo sayer bouffant and short shorts! But thats bye the bye I guess

Some fella had a fighting weight of 85 stone. EIGHTY FIVE ENGLISH STONES I tells ya. The doctor put a lot of it down to chemical imbalances which may or may not be true. The fella hadnt been out of his house for 10 years or something. Don't get me wrong I could do with shedding a few stone myself but I just cant comprehend beging that big. Its not just as easy as some people think and sometimes people dont want to be that big. The main point was that the guys were addicted to food. After a bucket of KFC and a meal they were Hungry again after 10 minutes. Usual lunch for one guy was 20-22 hotdogs. 6 portions of cheesy fries. The doctor calculated that to maintain that weight gain then they must eat around 15,000-20,000 calories per day

I was watching Life on Mars and missed this, here's hoping it available through other means, or just repeated on E$/More4 at some point.

Oh and just to say. Wrong forum!!! ;)

What does it mean "a fighting weight of 85 stone"? When I first read that I thought it was going to be about a huge 85 stone boxer or wrestler. :)

I loved the fact that the Half tonne guy said that if someone doesn't do what he wants he goes very sour and would crush you........How? hes bed-ridden and can't move that fast.

I know we shouldn't make fun but he doesn't help himself.

Oh come on. We really, really should. I love how with these things its always some chemical or overactive thyroid thing thing that's the 'reason' for their being a whale. Overactive pie-hole more like. I don't care what kind of medical problem you have, surely your body's giving you a bit of a clue a long time before you get a 'fighting weight' of nearly 1200 pounds.

The "reason" for most of them on that TV show was that they were addicted to food, and for what ever reason lacked the will power (imo education) to deal with it.

It's not like smoking whereby you simply stop smoking is it ? :touch:
