Half-Life: Blue Shift

Yay! What was originally planned as a DC exclusive is now coming to PC.

It is another add on pack to Half-Life that this time sees you controlling Security Guard Barney around Black Mesa.

It is also meant to include Opposing Force with it, free!

It's gonna rule

Hmm never really got into Half-life single player probably the only one on the planet, I was not into FPS' when it came out and I only bought it later for CS.

Well Opposing Force was very good so Im sure that Blue Shift will be good too. I do hope however that they wont charge too much for it and respect the fans of the game a
little by releasing this addon at not too high a price.

Jesus. I ain't played Half-Life single player since 3 days after release. I was on a P2-266 with 1 Voodoo2 back then

Don't think I could be arsed with Blue Shift or OpFor...

Looks interesting, it's going to have high quality models al la CS 1.1 as well, wringing the last bit out of the ancient engine.
I suppose it kind of rounds off the whole story (unless they release an Alien/GMan pack, now that might be interesting ) although to be fair it's going to have be cheap to persuade me to buy it.

What do you guys have against single players? I think they are just a good as multiplayers.

Not likely m8, with Black & White for single player, Duke 4, Doom 3, Return to Wolfenstein, and countless other games with better graphix engines coming out soon... no way is a game (or mod) based on the half-life engine gonna rule (or if it does, it certainly won't be for long)

As for single player games, i have nothing against them, i loved half-life, thought opposing force was waaaay to short, and am currently playing Deus Ex (to name a few)

I don't mind the Half-life engine cos im on a laptop and that can't handle good graphics anyway.

Deus Ex rules, but the multiplayer mode sure as hell don't

Red Faction is the game that is gonna rule. With the geo mod engine leting u blow up walls where ever u like. The explosions and glass shatering efects r stunning and the store will rule. As for blue shift it's just basically bleeding a stone that has already been bleed dry. Need new Graphics engine and story would be better Me thinx

It's apparently going to be more puzzle based. Hmmm..not how I feel about that. I really enjoyed HL single player and OpFor. Another single player add on would be cool, even if it is getting a little dated (game engine-wise). Put it this way...spectrum graphics were crap but it was the playability that counted. Right?

Yeah I loved the test demo I downloaded, even though it slowed down to about 2fps when the enemies came on
