cl_smooth affects client-server prediction, so while turning it off may make your client side experience smoother, its not an accurate reflection of whats going on in the server.

Will, it is worth trying, the game just wont look as good as it should. DX 7 compliant card is the min spec for hl2 and cs:source.

Meh, I think I will live with the odd jerky movement and a better chance of hitting things

r_3dksy 0 worked wonders for my fps, doesnt make the game look much different. Ta for the tip.

been playing with cl_smooth now for a good 45 minutes, very smooth now and whoring most servers i'm joining - no probs with using it so far.

I did try the r_3dsky thing too, but the server I tried it on said cheats had to be enabled on the serverto use it. Its not a cheat though ?

I did try the r_3dsky thing too, but the server I tried it on said cheats had to be enabled on the serverto use it. Its not a cheat though ?

Eeer, okay? I set it from console and played on several servers just fine.

Some servers allow you to pause the game via the pause button on the keyboard. Needless to say, the CS kids have already ruined many games by hitting it constantly.

Also had the "u'r so pro" insult and the "whiner" remark after i said "fs, bridge" on de_aztec - it's good to see the child community has migrated to the new version .

Set it in console before you join a server. Then join etc. That's how I did it.

is there lots of servers with players on? or is it dead on most?

dnt wanna buy it until people are starting... altho if i do buy it now, then could save all the cheaters... :s

Everything seems full all of the time. There's over 200 UK servers on ASE as of now and most have people on them.
