The posts preceding mine were about the concept of 'ignorance is bliss'. This reminded me of the girl I mentioned who suffered mildly from Down's Syndrome. She is, in effect, ignorant of all the foul, evil, shitty crap that goes on in the world. I envy her innocence and her lack of awareness! She is happy...totally happy with her station in life. I wasn't making fun of people with down's syndrome or saying that they were lucky bastards because, duh, they aren't!

Writing this makes me feel like I am trying to explain something slightly complicated to a 3 year old.
