exactly what would the cleric do to solo a whole group? run into the group and pbae mezz and then stun and nuke every one of them? cleric mezz is like 30 secs i think and smite isnt THAT good, with 26% spirit maybe they hit for 250-300 on a tank, with 1500 hp. im afraid clerics are only über at one thing, 1on1

Cant say clerics are overpowered. 5spec shadowblade with IP and Purge is able to solo clerc+mini duo without buffs.
Key is purge when you get both mez and stun on you.

Well smite clerics nukes as hard as runies dd unless you´re dark runie. And the runie bolts are only good for sniping lone casters with all the bugs it got. And it takes a hell lot of power to kill a cleric even if they only got the lowest instaheal. Not to mention you can´t bolt em since they got shield and bolts do less damage then dds then

Um maybe if full smite spec and even then they have a 4 sec spec smite as opposed to a 2.8 sec nuke (I believe).

even if you do purge you still take a 400 point smite...more than you can handle

400 hp nuke is bugger all when im buffed.. only have 1600+ hp when buffed by a shammy.... ohh and btw healer class with nuke for 400 hp = NURFAGE

atleast look at the bright side, alb may actually get more clerics that can heal and buff well..

So what you're saying is that, a cleric is not unbalanced because someone who has rr 4 lvl 3 (minimum for IP and purge) can beat one with rr1 lvl 1 every 30 minutes? you wanna maybe think about that for a sec??

Not based on the US evidence. According to someones post on IGN boards who checked the cleric poulation on his server throughout one evening:

Cleric population was way down.
Half the 40+ clerics were sitting in emain PK
A lot of the others were helping level people.
A minority were actually being played.

Then looking at most sensible posts there the only clerics still being played are those who feel a duty/obligation to their guild and friends.

Clerics are now 33rd - i.e. LAST in terms of RP earnt.

I suggest anyone still leveling should prepare to get used to leveling in groups without healers.

For some reason, every single cleric out there wants to be a damage dealer, once they actualy hae to heal they all seem to give up or think they're only good as buff bots anymore.. well druids have had to live with being buffers/healers for a long time now since nature spec isn't really very effective offensively. And, the highest rps druid on the server (lourker, 3rd highest in realm also) is pure regrowth/nurture spec, ie all he does is buff groupmates and heal(very very well). clerics are no less effective at doing this than a druid so if they were willing to give it a try at actually being a support class they could still gain rps, instead they give up unwilling to try to help their realm mates in battles, instead of conserving their power for smiting.. It is most sickening tbh..

[EDIT: there are some clerics who heal.. but 99% of them are only clerics to be casters in chain it sems]

I have been around for quite some time now. I am one of the FEW smite clerics. I cant understand why all mids and hibs seems to think that all clerics is smiters. Just because they smite in RvR dont mean they have 48+15 in smite like I have.
In the early patches i kinda killed all in 1on1's. Even won most 1on2's and some 1on3's. Smite cleric was to good then i can admit that. But then epic armors came. Life became harder... Then realm abbilities came and all tanks got Ignore Pain and purge. Which means that all tanks can take a smite cleric in a duel if you play it right. I still kill loads of tanks 1on1 but that is mainly because people i play against do mistakes. Of course i got some realm skill points too but the only one who is really useful is purge.

At the moment i need roughtly 3 smites on a caster and 5-6 smites on a tank. That is if they not use Ignore Pain. With my lousy range of 1350 and casting speed of 4 seconds its quite hard.

Of course my chain armors helps me. Still Runemasters nukes me for 500.

After the next patch i won't play my cleric anymore (Now you must be glad to see me leave). I have a minstrel also... to bad minstrel is a real gimp.

I won't scream for nerfs on other classes. Don't want what happened to me to happen to all of you. Its real tragic.

Mobius: I hided behind a tree and ran after you for like 30 seconds and you dont see me. Then you complain that I kill you in 2 smites?

Sko: No way a shadowblade with Ignore Pain and Purge can solo me. Not even if he is buffed. Course he can solo a standard cleric(Not 48 smite one). But not me. Many have tried that

its the stun that fucks everything up.... that and the insta mez

remove either one of those, preferably the stun, and clerics can keep their smite damage for all I care... they wont be using it when I'm beating at them with my axe

thats the best news ive heard all day, after what 3 smites and im dead :/ 1600hp en all takes more than 3 nukes for a wizzard to kill me...

as for the laughing hadass that was well uncalled for..

now go lvl a real char not a gimp or gimp to be

I never said they were highly smite specced, just that all they do is smite in rvr, I can count on one hand how many clerics I've seen actually healing. Most of them don't seem to realise that they're healers in rvr like they are in pve. Oh and I'd have to agree that a full smite spec cleric would kick a SBs ass even with purge + IP + fully bufffed

and one more thing if a grp let that a cleric run into them and mezz all well, those ppl worth the death...
