Gun Skins?

Hey, sorry to bug you all agian. I need a little more help making skins. O.K. so i exported the model files from HLMV into .bmp's and then i open them in paint shop pro. The model i want to alter is all gray and black, so when i click on the color pallette for red or something it makes some sort of gray, black or white color. it will only use the colors in the picture i have opened. how do i change that. and ne other thing, if i want to put a picture or a flag or something on the grip, how do i add it. Copy and paste?

Set it to true colour or soemthing, then when you're finished, put it back to 256colour, and it should make eeverything as close as possable.
