12 - Cheap-ass Kimbara acoustic for taking to roleplay events, currently in open-C tuning (C, G, C, G, C, E)

14 - Cheap-ass Encore Strat copy strung in 3 different octaves of C ( 2x low C, 2x mid C, 2x high C)
15 - Rockwood half-size travel guitar

That's a lovely collection, but I really think you should appreciate them and look after them. Being outside will mean insects eat the wood and water will make it weak.

Probably #10, the chocolate-brown 7-string; it's an amazing guitar.

Nice collection man, I can't help but cringe when i see people lay guitars on concrete, especially rough paving slabs even if its is just for pics.

Atm i'm trying to chill on my clubbing and been thinking about maybe taking up the guitar

How hard is it? how long before i can play anything? whats the best way of doing it? use the free online stuff or get a tutor?

Wondering about a Paul and a Tele...maybe if I find a nice one at the right price. I've never been the hugest fan of either, which I why I don't yet have one, but my guitar tastes are still branching out...

I've always thought Jacksons were very good, but also very overpriced - same applies to Gibsons. For the cash you'd lay down for a Jackson, you could a get a custom guitar with everything right...

Ive been playing for, mmm 6 months now. Ive not used a tutor yet, just using online guides. Can play a few songs, Basket case, when i come around, a few oasis songs, cant stop, sweet child of mine and Paradise city. I may fuck up the odd note here and then, put can play the whole songs.

i have two and i find it difficult to spread the time between my awesome 3 pickup custom white sg and my tele!

Actually, the first low-B-stringed instrument I used was a 5-string bass I borrowed for some theatre pit-band work...really confused me for a week or two having B as 'home' rather than E, but once I'd gotten used to it I found a 7-string guitar to be no problem; I play 7 more than 6 most of the time nowadays. I reckon it's probably just as confusing on guitar as on bass the first time you have a low B string, though...if I had people coming into the music store where I used to work part-time in Wales saying they wanted to start guitar and were into death/extreme metal stuff, I'd tell 'em to start off on a 7-string since they were going to end up needing one anyway. Squier (certainly used to) do a pretty reasonable affordable 7-string guitar, the Stagemaster one; several of my pupils used to have those.

That chocolate-coloured 7-string is an awesome guitar though...

all of those haydn williams ones, did you commission them yourself?

Yup, all made to order. He's a superb luthier, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone after a really top quality custom guitar. He also does very good acoustics.
