I guess it depends what you can find in music.
If you use it to escape and liek to put you own meanings to songs then the new radiohead is great, its so abstract you can mean what you want it to.
Having read a few interviews with Thom Yorke I can start to understand "sucking lemons" is all about, and I can put my own mind to it and find an understanding I like.
Or I ignore the words and just let the sound surround me. Dimebag (I think it was) said he had forgotten he was listening to music - in some ways that is the beauty of it.

Anyway, as ReAc said, (sortof), each to their own.

At the end of the day, it was stupid to think they'd ever top OK Computer anyway. (which remains gloriously luvly).

mookie - did you know you can download the follow up to the Pumpkins' Machina album? This is the last thing they will probably ever do; a final thankyou to all their fans and a two fingered salute to their record company. Get it here: http://www.machina2.cjb.net/

Shovel - I'm with ya on Gomez. As you think some of their music is *odd* I take it you've listened to the Abandoned Shopping Trolley Hotline album (although it's not really an album as such) - in particular The Cowboy Song. Personally I think they're more of a modern day Buffalo Springfield than a Doors.

The Charlatans new one - Us and Us Only - is pretty damn fine too (and who'd a thought it'd be them and not the Stone Roses still going today?)

I don't know bout Kid A (having not listened to it), but a m8 of mine likes this chap who goes by the name of Kid Rock. I'd try to educate him if I thought it'd work.

Kerbdog - On the turn
Grandaddy - The Sophtware Slump
JJ72 - JJ72
Ooberman - The Magic Treehouse

The Kerbdog and Ooberman albums are old but are quality albums. The Sophtware Slump is a concept album and works well, the JJ72 album is just fucking amazing. Buy them. Buy them all.

Kerbdog are very like Nirvana, Grandaddy and JJ72 are very like Radiohead, and Ooberman are just sorta on their own. Good stuff tho.

Recently got hold os Bis - Social Dancing. You may remember them as the first unsigned band to appear on TOTP playing 'Kandy Pop' :) Anyway I have to say that im quite impressed with the album, it comprises all the things I loved/love about indie music, a refreshing listen because its familiar or summink :D The album is the sorta thing u'd get if u mixed Pulp, Elastica, and Lush together, with the exception of track 10 (Detour), which sounds a bit like something massive attack would do.

I like it anyway.

Umm guitars eh - well, as a fanatical guitarist - the only stuff I really get excited by is the Metal stuff, in particular Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Eddie Van Halen, Gary Moore and any of Ozzy's Bands - tho Randy Rhoads and Zakk were the best of the bunch :)
