About the Knights of Dol Amroth

The Knights of Dol Amroth was the first officially announced kinship for the Massive Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game, Middle Earth Online. Since we formed on the 12th May 2003, our numbers have steadily increased and continue to grow. We have a careful screening process when it comes to applications, which can take up to a couple of days for us to decide on the applicants acceptance or dismissal from the Kinship. Whereas most kinships allow anybody to join, if you wish to join us then you must be pure of heart and free from any corruption.

Knights of Dol Amroth Background Information:
Dol Amroth is the harbour city at the headland of western Gondor, ruled as a hereditary princedom by the descendants of Galador during the last millennium of the Third Age. The princes of Dol Amroth were renowned for their elvish heritage. For centurys the port of Dol Amroth hosted many white ships from the blessed realm. The people of Dol Amroth are noble and for many years helped the men of Gondor defend its borders from the increasing powers of sauron. It is because of its allegiance and its prowess in battle that the soldiers of Dol Amroth have earned a high status amongst the ranks of the Gondorian Army and thus became the legendary knights of Dol Amroth. They were called to help defend Minas Tirith in the war of the ring, Knights riding great steeds entered the great gate of Minas Tirth to defend the White City from the onslaught of Sauron. The knights of Dol Amroth were fierce in battle, forcing back waves of orcs, charging into their lines and causing chaos amongst their ranks. The battle was won at the Pellanor fields and afterwards Prince Imrahil rode with Aragorn and Eomer as one of captains of the west, leading his knights before the Black Gate where they played a part in the fate of Middle Earth. Its almost certain that after the defeat of Sauron the knights of Dol Amroth rode into the east with knights of Gondor and Rohan, against the numerous tribes that still hated Gondor and its allies. Such was the charge of thier great steeds that it is said that the charge could be heard in the west like distant thunder.
