Guild groups

Noticed a very annoying trend lately - this isnt a dig at those keep raiding/taking/upgrading before people misinterpret it. I have no problem with guild groups for that - or guild groups full stop - guild groups are undeniably more effective as people are used to working with each other - much like a regular xp group.

However what pisses me and everyone else off is when you assemble a group, get halfway/all the way to emain and then a person says 'oh i'm going to join a guild group now'. Ok so you want to join your guildies - you grouped with others however and it's just plain impolite and annoying (especially if you a speed class in emain) to disband before/once there to join your guildmates.....

Not having a go at those who say 'ill be off to join a guild group in 30 mins or whatever' - gives the group notice to try and replace you thats also fine - but disbanding on about 10 seconds notice is just plain rude.

If you want to group with your guildmates thats fine - but dont go joining other groups while waiting for a guild group if you just intend to disband the second your guildmates turn up.

Rant over.

That kinda annoys me too. But simple solution, don't grp that person again as there is a chance he will abandon you half way to emain with no notice.

When I get into an RvR group and notice a guild RvR group is starting that needs a warden, I just stay in the current group till I die (and have no chance of a res), or I get out before we leave DL. Basically, it's ok to leave a mixed RvR group before DL, after that it's not considerate of your fellow Hibs, and I'm sure you'll notice people stop asking you after a while.

I don't do this too often (I think 3 times in my whole DAoC playing time) but I understand people who do it so don't get uptight. Guilds are one of the things that makes this game worthwhile and without my guild I wouldn't be playing this game now. It would just be too dull. If people want to play with their friends then I wouldn't get too upset at it.

Re-read my post mate - i have nothing against people playing with their guilds or friends - i'm all for it in fact. I play with friends whenever possible too - it's more fun. And guild groups often do better than non-guild (overall anyways).
That wasn't my objection - my objection was people just disbanding and leaving their groups a man down in a situation where replacing is difficult/impossible without a run back to ligen.

It's for the good of the guild society. And sometimes it comes all of a sudden i guess, so can't warn in behalf.

I always put guild #1.
