Guff.... wtf?

So i take my lvl 24 infil to BG, i got some base buffs and 99% armour and good items...

Just about to PA a norse sm when BANG.. 548 damage from a fire effect nuke and im dead....

I didnt see anyone else apart from this sm and i was quite amazed that any class can do 548 damage in Bg1... so i checked duskwave and Guff is a skald?!?!

so..

A) skald nukes dont have the fire proc graphic
B) there no way on earth a skald can nuke for 548 in bg1
C) he/she was invisable

Exploiting a charge on a high level drop that allows low levels to use it?

Just plain cheating? :p

U think maybe a staff with a 331 damage charge? I'm not sure they are usable by non casters. Maybe u wre right 1st time with an SM.

that charge has a lvl49 requirement afaik (assuming you mean the DF ones)

Yes, Guff = the SM afaik.. She's always stuck on him and sometimes pbaes to unstealth infi's.. maybe Guff spotted you with his SM and then hit you with the Onager?

i'm 99% sure he killed you with an Onager though..

Onager for teh win imo. I made an Armsman --> Djadja Vanya <translates as uncle ivan, as opposed to uncle sam>. Who, gotta tell ya, lubs them siege engines, its immense fun but does hit my pocket a bit, spent 120g on one keep defense.

Onager loaded with bullet <heat damage> => around 500+ on armoured, 700-800 on anything under studded or without resists.
Ice does about 300-400 damage but the radius is 350 which is great, effectively makes your cata range 2500+175.

LOL Guff is a skald with siegecraft and he was using an onager, I was there with my BD(Blazy), standing right next to him watching him nuke the hell out of u :D

I think he's spot on there NRG. Having used Trebs and what not alot myself, I know that bullet ammo would tear through anything ;)

- Not within visual range

about the doin 548 damage in bg 1... with my eldie i have bolted a yellow con BD for 452 with no cric so its quite possible :) (mustve had the free stuff on or sommat )

Saw some screenie of a luri heroine using a catapult or something in BG2, USA.

Hit a poor caster for a mean 2000 damage. :D

THem balls of ice are awesome in onagers :) The radius is insane compared to the bulet and they seem to do the same damage from what I've seen. Hit someone for 1098 before with one :p Get far too many rp's using them though :p

the ss says you hit icestriders for 866 dmg, how come he survived? That's alot of hp! :(

Yea thats exactly what I wondered zonder...Think its a fully buffed warrior (tho he should have no more than 1 hp left after)

I think he actually died, but it's just a bug whereby you don't see deathspam all the time when you kill people with cata's. I'd seen other instances where this happened, and checking on my mate's comp who was providing ground assists, the deathspam showed up there but not on mine.
