Can't argue with this point, but then how do you define as established guild? is it

A. a guild with a large player base, that has been running for a long time. hosts a number of different things to help new people to the game, go on hunts to places other than emain and doesn't regard RvR as a more or less important part of the game than any other aspect.

B. a guild with a mainly lvl 50 player base that was designed mainly for RvR, and has little interest in any other aspect of the game.

But like i said, the one realm alliance is a great idea. however it would lead to many guilds having to throw away their identity which can be very difficult.

To use my example a few months ago my guild 'The Dark Alliance' decided it was best that we were assimilated by 'Tiwaz's Emessarys' (don't ask how you spell it, even though it does float directly under my name ) and that totally fell through, only one or two people didn't switch back to TDA after about 1 week. Ok, so it wasn't the most professional/XP farming/RP farming/Uber guild arround we were just peeps trying to have some fun, but i think the example is a valid one.

I doubt you'd even see 'Nolby Pride' or 'Cutting Edge' give up their names (Though 'Nolby Edge' or 'Cutting Pride' would be fairly cool guild names ) even if it was for the good of the realm.


Well thats my piece anyway, it might not be too idealistic but i genuinly think that the single alliance idea will never be practically implemented.

though i pray i'm proved wrong cause it would seriously kick ass

We think of why one Alliance will fail insted of why it will be a sucess.

We think of the people in emain insted of thinking what we should do with the peeps in Midgard.

Stop thinking start acting, make the one alliance idea a reality and start thinking how we can make Midgard strong again.

Why would ANYONE want to take up the reigns of leadership with people like you showing how much they 'appreciate' the hard work involved?

Killgorde did a good job of providing leadership when it was needed and now he's moving on to other things, end of story. Thank him and move on, new leadership will appear, it always does.

I dont take the game serious, but the loosing part in it i do.
I do not like loosing, but maybe you do? But then again some ppl are born to be a looser, if you are, there is nothing you can do about it, its in your nature!

A leader to me isnt a person or shouldt act like a rat abandoning a sinking ship! think ive said enough about the issue!!!!

Killg left when he had done his part pointing us all in the right direction, he gave us the relic and proved it could be done. He left before our relic was retaken, so you cant say at that stage it was a sinking ship.

Poon is right, we need to unite Midgard as it should be, Poon has been chosen as the new leader of the CE alliance, so back him up when the call comes.

As for one alliance, well the thoughts nice, but with so many ppl making lil guilds and only so many places for guilds in the alliance, you will only be able to choose the cream of Midgard. As CE once was.

Make new rules, kick out the idiots, and get the guilds to restrict the amount of ppl with access to info about raids etc, get them thinking again!

Sorry but this is one reason why the other two allainces I was in failed to deliver. Lack of information about raids, and so people that where left out in the cold decided to leave the alliance. In the end people lost interest cause no one showed up and then the flames started in /as and the alliance forum. If you are going to restrict access to raids then you might as well not bother in having a alliance, and just go as a guild. But if you shut people out of the raid loop there will always be bitterness between the guilds and members.

All Alliances have problems, go to any of the servers and you will find this same thing happening.

A common problem with Alliances is the fact that Membership is too easily gained, in a desire to recruit more people and make the Alliance stronger what actually happens is you have a lot of people but not many that are interested in helping/serving the Alliance.
There should be Basic Rules for any alliance, most of which are just common sense things (i'm not going to go into detail about that - i don't have the time ) and it is the responsibility of the GM of each Guild to enforce these rules within his/her own guild.

If a Guild proves itself unworthy of Alliance Membership - either by lack of effort or just a complete disregard for the Rules of the Alliance then get rid of them. If an Alliance is to be effective then it needs to be full of people willing to work together towards the same goal.

I have not been in Midgard/Excal for very long but I have enjoyed my time there and most of the people I have met seem like good and nice players interested in having fun. Many of them would love the chance to be part of a major Alliance and to stick it to the Albs and Hibs, as a Dwarf thats what i live for (well there is the Gold as well but thats a private issue).
I hope to prove myself a loyal defender of Midgard and to be out fighting those crazy Tincans and flighty Treehuggers in defence of my Realm. I just hope that I will be able to do this as part of a strong and united Midgard Alliance.

Midgards biggest foe are the spies in the realm, this cannot be avoided unless we control the flow of information. During the last relic raid, as soon as we hit Excal, we had 4-5fg of albs suddenly appear.

To me this leak is a damn sight more important than a few ppl who are kept out of the loop until its crunch time.

Heard the sayings "what the dont know cant hurt them" or "need to know", well if officers and GMs kept this all to them selves, thats exactly what you would have.

I also think (judging by this AND a lot of other threads) that Midgardians get more pissed off not owning arelic than they do with the lack of info.

AFAIK it was Mazsola that spotted the relic force in hadrian, AND it was posted on Celtic Fist's irc channel someone said. Spy or not, they knew we were coming, and had lots of 50's logged at excal. I still believe we have spies though, just that this time, they spotted us legitly. Anyway, my group which went a little after the others spotted mazsola and killed him by mmg in hadrian. So it seems VERY likely that Mazsola was there a few minutes before and saw the big force moving through.
