GTA Vice City

The first time I played GTA3 i didnt do nothing but lmao for hours as you could pretty much do anything. After putting in GTA Vice City I once again felt the same spending hour fucking about pulling wheelies and stoppies on a moped. Then finding a copper chasing someone down the street chasing this bloke and knocking him down to be arrested earned me $50. Theres even more detail than in GTA3. The game is certainly worth buying.

BTW got my copy on Thursday for £27.99 :E
mate got his Tuesday the bastard :(

Longest Wheelie Distance: 1242.43 Meters
Longest Wheelie Time: 42 Seconds
Longest Stoppie Distance: 58.76
Longest Stoppie Time:4 Seconds

The chainsaw is brilliant as is the Topfun vans with the RC toys.

Every little tweak ahas been made including the diving from moving cars which always bothered me in GTA3.

The missions are better and the fact you are a real character makes it that little bit more entertaining.

The helicopter owns :)

Not found one yet although I have only just opened the 2nd island. Not been there yet though.

All cars behave their own way and sound different also.

Prove it.

I can't, it's an opinion. I have a PS2, it's a good console, I just don't think it has more quality games than both GC and Xbox combined.

Yes where the middle island is theres a house with like an Pink Arch leading into it. Go behind the garage and youll see a door. Go through here and theres one there. Not that exciting though, much prefer the chainsaw.

Helicopter FFS!!! w00t

If any of you have more than 14 grand go downtown and buy the hyman condo. On the roof is a spanking new helicopter :D

Fly it until yer hearts content.

Don't worry if it's not there straight after loading a game. Walk away from the condo for a bit and go back to the roof....viola...Helicopter again :D

I read it. :)

Finish the Copland mission and you can get an army uniform that lets you enter the army compound without getting instantly filled with bullets.

Dya know when GTA3 first came out, I was sorely tempted into buying a PS2 just for that game, however I decided paying the rent and buying food was more important so waited for the PC version.

Now GTA:VC is out and reading what people have been up to already again I really want to buy a PS2 just for this game :(

Watch this space: bank robbery in progress ;) :D

Courtesy of GameSpot:

Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto franchise is breaking just about every sales record that exists for console games in the UK.

Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto: Vice City has become the fastest selling game in the UK ever, with an unprecedented figure of over 250,000 copies flying off store shelves in its first two days on sale. To put that figure in perspective, the previous record was held by Konami's Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, which sold over 120,000 copies in the same amount of time.
At the same time, Grand Theft Auto III, which took two weeks to sell its first 100,000 copies, has just become the first ever million-selling video game in the UK--just over a year after it was released there. After 55 weeks in the ChartTrack sales charts, the game is still at number 10 in the all formats chart after slipping down from seventh position when Vice City arrived in stores. Grand Theft Auto III will be the first game ever to receive the ELSPA (European Leisure Software Publishers Association) Diamond Million Seller Award, and its successor is unsurprisingly being tipped to earn the same award within an even shorter space of time.

According to ELSPA, there are a number of other British-developed games on the brink of achieving over a million sales in the UK, including Tomb Raider II, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. ELSPA is also predicting that Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, which is scheduled for release later this month, could be one of the next games to achieve million-seller status.

Is there any point me buying Vice City when I've already bought (and not completed - got distracted by other games/things) GTA3?

I still nto finished GTA3, killing and random car jacking is far more fun than the missions :)

VC is worth every penny :)

Forgive my ignorance, but isn't GTA:VC just more of the same?

Sounds more like an expansion pack than a brand new game....

Correct me if I'm wrong please :)

Yes and no, while it is indeed a sort of expansion pack it is about the largest expansion pack ever and one well worth buying.

If you didn't like GTA3, you probably won't like VC.

The game is a lot larger and deeper than GTA3 and everything that you had wanted GTA3 to be.

Buying strip clubs
getting lap dances
Shooting peeps with a sniper rifle through their windscreen while they are still driving :)
motorbikes
helicopter
a plane that you can actually fly properly this time.

to name a few.

Shooting out the tyres,
Better music stations,
Change clothes,
Riding on highway listening to Billie Jean,
The RC planes & choppers,
Harder police : The use of stingers and swat team arriving from the choppers blah, blah, blah...
