Im doing a case study on the changing nature of audio playing equipment (lp -> tape -> MD -> MP3 etc). I need details on the manufacture of some equipment which plays each format. . just about given up on writing to companies and google is all but useless.

Anyone know any links or anywhere I can find anything!!

lol

^^^^^^^^ the right products but Im looking for how they are made (by hand by robots etc - cost of production - where they are produced - production lines etc). Unfortunately I dont think Sony etc want to give away too many of their secrets :(

Why stick to sony? Just mail every popular manufacturer. Why we'd be able to help more than the companies, or google, I don't know.

Big companies generally dont care anything apart from their profits. Ie: They could help me if they could be bothered

Not really true.

I posted a letter to Shanks (the waste disposal people) and told them I was doing a project on re-newable energy all I really wanted was some paper work on what they offered. Instead the invited me to goto my local rubbish dump :) and get the guided tour. I was given my own guide who took me around showed me the huge generators they use to produce the power from the refuse and was shown what a completed land fill site looks like. Was all very interesting.

Some (not all) companies like to do things like this 'cos it can produce brand loyalty and makes good PR (public relations, not me)

Try several electrical manufacturers, chances our if you explained well what you were doing in your project they will respond in some manor.

Good luck
