Is it possible to get griffons to fly you in si and how do I get it, do I need a quest or faction?

The same goas for the whirlwinds in stygia?

I heard both gives the ability of using them as a "horse" rute, is this true, and where can I find information about it?

There are 2 Gryffon routes in the Midgard Shrouded Isles region. (Cant speak for other realms.) They go from Hagall to small mob village of near the border to Modernagrav and from there over the water into Modernagrav.

To use this routes you need good faction with the people of said mobs. (Cant remember wich faction actually.)

Whirlwinds are not usable for transportation. They are just mobs but someone might have acciedently caused confusion by calling the Djinnies found outside the Havens of Atlantis Whirlwinds.

Pretty much any mob in Iarnwood and Iarnvidiur's Lair give positive Iarn Dwarf faction when killed, too.

There are 'new' added zones in SI. You can get there by these 'flies'. Hibernia/ Midgard/ Albion. All have them. By standard, they are 'friendly' to all (atleast, as in my experience). You can fly from a normal town (guard npcs of ur realm etc), to another town (mobs). If those kind (or fraction) are friendly to u, you can fly in. From there you can access the new zone.

The mobs to kill.. In albion: Lamnia you need to be friends with, so i guess kill Ogre's.
Don't know about hib or mid.

Hibernia you need to be friendly with kraxack (or how the crap you spell it) the mantid people to get faction murderise.

Botonids, Coruptors, or just go to galladoria. Then you get to fly a big wyvern thingy.

from experience of swimming across instead of flying as a level 8 SB, I can assure you the mid fliers are not friendly or even hostile :)

Kill redcaps or them bloody annoying elf looking gimps near the dwarven camp to make the dwarves love and worship you and more importantly let you fly on the griffon.

Bit hard at level 8 though ;)

Yeah a lot of people think that :) Redcaps do not give faction :)
