grrr...sommit IRL has come up and I can't attend...

I'll post some stuff here tho - shame bout the platinum piece, but at least I can entertain you all here.

This one is for Rone, and all the other poor souls in our last DF group:

There was a young lady Arweny,
whose skills and her spells there were many.
but sadly for all
she'd end up on the floor,
then moan and cry out 'They were ON ME'

Arrrgghh!! I had car problems and was busy getting it fixed. How about publishing the winning poem and telling us who wrote it?? And some screenies would be nice too!

This is a pre-edited version of the poem, from our guild boards:

http://anja.proboards6.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&num=1036855201&start=0

(I am pretty sure he tidied it up a bit before the competition, and am sure he'll post the final version when he wakes up!)

And big thanks to all the organisers and Zargar, and everyone who came along! And especially to all the poets for putting in the effort.

I think everyone in our little guild was about ready to die with pride when Miri won :)

Here's the poem I read out, not sure if it's any different from what is at the link Linnet posted. If it's not then if you're too lazy to follow the link it's here anyway :)

This is the little luri dancing rhyme,
It's simplistic and fun,
Just keep in time.

One foot forward, summon a friend,
Ignore passing comments,
About the mana-bomb trend.

Two steps backwards and cast a few buffs,
No matter what they say,
Mana-chanters are 'teh rox!!1'.

Make some effervesence and trundle along,
Time to start casting,
While screaming 'I'm a Mana-bomb!'.

Two steps sideways and shove your staff to the ground,
A big mana bubble,
And 50 enemies hit the ground.

Now you've proved it, you're a mana-bomb,
Do the dance and have some fun.

One step forward,
One step back.

Two steps sideways,
Spam spam spam!

Just want to say thank you to all the organisers, it was really great fun. And thank you to everyone else who read their poetry at the competition too.

Thanks!!!

To organisers for this, was a very good laugh and I enjoyed it!

Also, thanks to the audience for not pointing out that i missed hitting a few macros and the middle made no sense!!!!

Some of these poems had me in fits of laughter and it was a very pleasant break from the xp grind!

Again, Thank you!

Well thanks everyone for turning up and glad to see everyone had fun.

For information, the winner was Mirieth and the second palce went to Araathon. Funniest poem went to Lewstherin.

Thanks also the the Merchant's Guild (Arrows and Celadorn) for an additional gift of prize money.
