It wasn't the guild group I usually run in, but what on earth is wrong to run as a guild? None of us in my guild have level 50's on excal so we have fun in the bg every once in a while whilst levelling our other characters. It's good practice for working as a team, and thats what the bg is supposed to be - a training ground for real rvr.
