Well done, congratulations!

It's always a joy when you're standing around mezzed while fighting Mids to see the hammers of deliverance crash down on you from above, hit you for about 10 damage and release you to wreak havoc among enemy lines. :) Offhand, I can't come up with a single reason to use that spell except for leeching RPs.

Err....when you are in a guild with 4 Thanes raining hammers down in concert with a couple of spear Runies at a keep take/defence or ambush with a couple of kick ass healers obligingly stunning (in more ways than one ;)) for you, it deflates that argument. Especially when outnumbered 2 or 3 two one with the availabity of purge and it's variations now. CE's balance does give us this option when the circumstances avail, and with each guy offloading sometimes upwards of 10k combined HP damage in 8 seconds (my best was 3 casts for 16k), Mjol - and Spears for that matter - are a formidable barrier to overcome when used simultaneously by 3-4 peeps with supporting Healers who know the drill, which ours do.

How do you unload 3 spells on a 4.sec casttime in 8 sec.? :D
(but yes - Hammer time rules at Keeps - but so does most AOE)

hehe ok ... when i played lvl 50thane and unloaded mjolnir and saw dmg and then this msg im thinking .. hmmmm ... did 200peep stand dirctly inside of eachother when u did that ? got a screenie or something ? or should we place this line of ur post along side ur "a mate took a bullet for me" line ?

Maybe you were just a shite Thane, Fons? Or a mezz breaker who didnt have the capacity to realise when it would be most useful and one of those giving the rest of us a bad rep? I thought NP just mezzed/stunned everyone and killed them one by one. AE can be lethal if you have the ability and the intellect to use it when the conditions are right, m8 ;)

Not one for posting screenies but did a bit of digging into the distant past and an early Nazgul raid. (apologies for the quality):

http://home.online.no/~joak-oed/daoc/renarismod.gif was +3k a cast. Not ideal but when you have 4 guys dealing out 12k HP every 4 seconds between them you get the idea.

Best one was at the tower in Emain with an awful lot of irate Albs trying to get through a very small door blocked by tanks (6.5K was the best of the 3 on that occasion). The enemy does have to be compressed for it to be truly memorable, as that particular occasion was - but the Renaris one tends to happen whenever a zerg strength recovery force eventually comes to pay Uncle Jarl a visit in his chambers and we have good tank and healer support. Thanes and Runies are the only Middie classes that can stop a vastly superior force dead in it's tracks (remember the Yggdra relic raids) if they work as a team, particularly with purge/determination and future patches nerfing CC. The challenge is <coughs> getting them to think as one.

Ive seen some nice shaman aeroot being broken by uber damage mjollnir in fg vs fg fight in for. sauvage by CE before :p

and that wasnt exactly at keep fight :)

Granted...

Okay, Killgorde, in those circumstances you mention, I can see where those hammers have their use. However, in almost all Mid engagements I've been involved in with Thanes on the opposing side, that AoE has done nothing but release mezzes. :) (First comment was tongue-in-cheek, as I am sure you know, since most skilled RvR-players know when to use AoE and not. :))

Notice the dmg on people who you can identify as level 50? "you hit for 70 damage" isnt excactly worth breaking a mez on a level 50 guy...

at typical Albion vs CE-in-Renaris event, the albs don't get mezzed; they get AEDoTed, speared and hammered constantly. Works surprisingly well at times...

first off all it was a borrowed thane so dont know if it was shite or not, and second of all yes u maybe did 3k but look at dmg on players .. 20 to some ;))))) u do realize 1 group heal from a none mend specc healer is 71hp ? thats like 5% power of a healer and how many % do u use for a mjoelnir ? and total dmg dont mean shit cause if u hit a lvl 50tnak for 50dmg on an area even if u hit 200of em u wont kill 1 single .. not even with 4mjoelnir casters not before they kill u atleast ... so its NOT worth breaking a single mezz for if u ask me ... and i seriously gotta stop posting after work cause im not sure if this post makes sense at all .. i hope it does .. a VERY tired fons out etc etc, and could u keep the m8 part out of ur replies to me ? i know u wanna seem friendly and none hostile after ebe's post, but keep it in ur pants plz, i dont swing that way :/ (except for lanz and sub but they dont count)
