Oh please Freia, don't be so naive and stop making it sound like quite an achievent that you were able to 'sneak' to our relic keep undetected at 5am.

Got no problem with the time, but you make me chuckle by actually claiming that it was an achievement. :)

This is great. I can now without any guilt whatsoever concentrate on xping to level 50. Cries about 100+ Albs in our frontier will happily get ignored, because I can count on them getting taken back within a short time anyways and it doesn't look like I'll ever be around to do any relic taking anyways

I think this kind of explains the so called 'lost value' of the relics. Unless the only value you see is the 10% bonus.

Nah, didnt say that. U need to reread my post m8. Infact I said it out plain that we were lucky that noone saw us.

And I gave some compliments to Blejsarus yes, for making everything work as smothly as it did but you would need to be there to understand it I guess.

LOL, as for that quote of yours its just whining, and I adressed that stuff too, you really need to reread my post :)

I said its free for all to arrange a damn raid anytime they wish, so they should stop whining and just get off their lazy butts and do it.
There are 3 relics still to get back to the right place and we picked up one. Whats the big deal? Relics will keep switching owners
all the time and I for one will be happy to see a few "primetime" raids. I have never been on any relic raids myselfe besides the one we did but I'm sure I will see many in the future.
Might add that lately noone has been very keen on getting any relics since our doors have been getting bashed constantly by 2 armies.
So that may explain why there hasnt been alot of big raids for all the middies. But trust me, if you would have been there at 3 this monday you would all have been invited for some NPC bashing (and a chace for some rps =)
I suggest everyone who want to raid go and get all their friends and do a few woodrus when the doors are boken.
That's a sure way to get the raiding going if you dont wanna arrange it yourselfe.

So finally, Coren, before you "respond" to me next time please read and understand what I said, thanx.

I left the freaking quake3 scene because ALL the whining from people ruined the game, now, I wouldnt expect that to happen in a MMORPG game where I thought I would not have to see all FPS freaks using their l33t language and just enjoy my chars and roleplay, if it takes to stop reading this forums to keep enjoying it, so be it.

I just want you all to shut up and enjoy the game, I dont enjoy taking relics undefended because its not fun, but there isnt anything I can do about it, I cant tell 100 people not to do a thing, and when they ask me if I want to join in I cant say no, because its always fun practising your char in a situation like that.

You cant make everyone listen to you and I bet you experienced that in albion too (About that guy who stole the relic and fell down or what it was) but pleeeeeeeease try to have fun anyway and get up and take those relics back from us! =)

Ah well, still the same. There's no such thing as being lucky noone saw you when there wasn't someone online to see you. :p

LOL, as for that quote of yours its just whining, and I adressed that stuff too, you really need to reread my post

Hmm, you might reread my post and notice the 'Got no problem with the time' part. So there's big LOL for you too. ;)

Any realm is allowed to do a raid at whatever time they want. All is fair in war. Heck, we did it ourselves, and I was present, so I would be the last one to complain about the time really. It's just the hipocrasy from some Mids and the patting yourself on your back for doing such a good job  that annoys me. Must admit it's a good job getting people willing to do a relic raid at that time tho. :p

Yes, you got that relic. Yes, we'll get it back eventually with a primetime or a non-primetime raid. Both cases will give us the relic, only one of those will give us actual satisfaction and the right to be proud of ourselves.

So finally, Coren, before you "respond" to me next time please read and understand what I said, thanx.

I really dont know about albion but we usually have about 40 online at 7:00 and then it goes up again. It beats me though, why any realm would have more people logged in at night than any other realm when there is nothing planned. And like I also said there had been big fights at Beno not so much earlier so there could very well have been ppl in Albion at 4:30 who could have spotted us.

If you actually read all the statements I made about the pissed off mids I dont see why you brought it up again.
And that stuff wasnt really addressed to you 'cept the lol. :) I just hope that the whiners in midgard reads it.

Like I said in an earlier post most of us had never taken a relic before so you can bet a lot were satisfied and had a lot of fun. And thats what the game is all about and yadayada. and so on. :)

Well it seems we agree on most stuff and yeah getting ppl together was impressive (I didnt do much of it myselfe) and that was part of the good leadership I mentioned.

/em went to emain aswell. You just killed Freia.

Was that you who got the very final blow of the 5 Albs that came out of nowhere? Gratz then, the odds were 1/5 :)
I logged in there and I didnt know the place was crawling with Albs. Whats a poor nonstealther norsewoman to do? hehe

I was there, and like Freia, it was my first relic raid, and it was great fun !, and in mho thats what this game is about.....

For those of you that feel that raids in the wee hours are a problem, organize a scout or two... beacuse if we had met any kind of organized Alb force, we would not have danced merrily away with the relic, we would have failed... we had a small group of around 30, and a good number of them conned yellow to me at lvl 37..., but even if we had met resistance and failed, it would still have been FUN !!!!

So, I had FUN on the wee hours relic raid, and I had FUN trying to defend against a million albs in Ygg... FUN FUN FUN.... never mind the relics.. what about FUN FACTOR!!!!

After the Bazaar in Alb last night, I went off to XP and heard from my guild that the Mids were attacking Excalibur. I sent a friend a PM to see if he knew about it, and his response was priceless.

Roughly - "But it's not morning yet." :m00:

Still, it was nice to see some of Midgard try during peak hours. Only problem was, the Bazaar was held at Ludlow, and there's a horse route directly to Castle Sauvage from Ludlow, so when the reports came in, you had 100+ people in Ludlow mount up and head out. And the Bazaar was basically over, so the timing wasn't perfect.

I never knew they had that many horses in Ludlow. ;)

Yea, funniest thing was, the first Albs moved out while Mids still gave out Rams in Svasud ...
Stood at Sauvage gates some time well before the raid started.

Oh yay...we've progressed to the next evolutionary stage...not about time-of-raid anymore...but spying.

For the record, word came of 50 Midgardians passing the MMG...that sure as hell isn't spying.

And what a crappy experience that raid was, just like all really big raids. Less than 2 fps, totally unplayable and unenjoyable.

The relic defence later that night was much more fun.

For the record Branor, Albs were making their way to Excalibur, maybe only about 20 or so, 30-60 mins before anyone passed through the MMG in Hadrians, you even had time to send people to the MMG so you could claim to have spotted us that way ;) .

Now can people please stop talking about the same old subjects, you have all raided at the crack of dawn - you have all taken relics from undefended keeps.

Let this be the end of this thread so you can continue to whine about the next event in the frontiers (which statistically will be started by an Alb ;) ).

How did you know how many Albs there were there? Eh? Hmm?

Even if you had hunters/SB's there, still doesn't prove a thing. I've know lots of Albions to go on frontier patrols. Hell, I did a patrol once with my mid level Minstrel just to check on all the keeps.

Besides, if Mids don't pitch up in Emain in great numbers, then we know they're going to probably attack, since we all know Mids don't defend until after they've been attacked. So that just leaves the Albion frontier...quite elementary my dear Watson.

First hint of the attack was hours before it came - no mids in emain. I remember Walker saying in guildchat "no mids in emain, they're up to something". Also it was pretty damn obvious they were going to try something during the bazaar given it was so well publisized.
The lack of mids in emain probably prompted people to go and check MMG/HW, which led to the mids being spotted. Then everyone just dashed out of Ludlow like it was about to sink into a hole in the ground. ;)

Your absolutely right Brannor - my mistake completely - I just thought the call to arms by Albion on ICQ before any of our scouts were spotted or any non-stealthers left the MPK was a bit peculiar ;)

PS. My apologies for dropping an 'N' from your name, it was deliberate and in no way a typo ;)

PPS. I shall no longer reply to this thread and look forward to the next 'slag match' posted by....... now lets all guess which realm will start the thread ;) and I hope more of you can take it all a little less seriously.

I don't use ICQ (I think it gives unfair advantages to those who do). I was one of those Albions heading out into the Pennines before the Mids ported. This is because I was off to kill worms and trees in north sauvage (nice safe solo XP, and the closest decent hunting ground to Ludlow, where I was coming from). Then one of my guildmates, Cawen, came to join me. On the way he was killed by Azal. As soon as I saw this, I knew something was up, because Azal's always involved in the main Middie primetime activities.

Shortly afterwards, another guildmate, Gai, joined us, and we went to kil Ellyll by Berkstead - not least because I thought that if Azal's presence in Sauvage was a forerunner of some sort of raid, we'd be near enough to get to the appropriate keep. But the first I knew of the raid was when SoTL told me of 50+ Mids incoming after they'd already arrived. I put out a call to arms and we only just made it to Excalibur before the Mid army did.

So sometimes, it's not spying, it's just good planning based on the intelligence you have (sending Azal ahead of your main force is a bad move - there, I'll give you that one for free), coupled with a decent slice of luck (holding the bazaar in Ludlow meant that hundreds of Albions were a very short direct horseride away from Sauvage, and not XPing, so happy to come quickly).

Good fight though, even if the first charge was obscenely laggy. My personal cunning tactic, as ever, was to charge headlong into the Mid lines, die in their rear areas, and then pass on information to the command group from my priviliged position (dead, but with a good view). What was particularly impressive was the way the cross-Albion command group operated. Boney was quickly nominated leader on the spot at Excalibur, while Laird took the counter-attack back to Midgard. In between, each Guild took responsibility to garrison a frontier keep in case the Mids came back. It was very effective, very smooth and enjoyable to be part of.

Actually Aethelstan, sending him ahead of the main force is a good idea... he has a very high stealth level and would be hard to spot.

The bad idea is letting him kill people before you are ready to attack... that's just plain dumb ;)
