Why do people start these posts? Are they at work maybe and want something do do to pass the time? As that's my situation i'll try to reply to some points

Why a 5am raid? Well imo that wasn't the plan if there was a plan at all, I saw this start to build at 1.30am when the action was dying down.

Get a job? Hate to say this to you workers but take a look outside, the schools and uni's are shut for holidays. If I was uni age i'd be sleeping in the sun all day/drinking and playing games when it's cooler, which happens to be errr from 10pm onwards.

Trig and hardcore players/alliance? Well if you've reached 50 just what do you expect these guys to do? Run around Emain all day while trying to arrange a raid which will no doubt leak out during idle chat on IRC and will be low on numbers anyway because people want to do their own thing. Spur of the moment attacks are a damn sight more fun imo.

I'm damn glad these guys are doing this at whatever time suits them and that go's for the Hibs and Albs 8am raids. If you stopped early morning/late night raids we'd be left with prime time lag fests where not a single relic would change hands because the numbers involved would kill the zone.

The only thing I agree on is Det not being able to hold his beer

Hey Tbird, good post. I don't care about the prime time thing, really. The only 'problem' (and that is strong a word, really) that I have is how are alliance leaders are happy to get us all involved in wood runs, in taking the alliance money when we have to DEFEND the realm, but how they cautiously keep a low profile on the attacks, which is so much more fun. Sure, it could leak. So what ? We would end up having good fun even if we do not succeed.

The problem with that attitude is that we lower level players (well, again I speak for myself) are getting sucked of our cash to basically subvention relatively few players. It's OK for some time, but after a while, you will see that people will not respond as quickly when called up to defend the realm, and will not be as forthcoming with cash/wood. I know that I could have gone up a full lvl if I had stayed in my dungeons instead of coming running at alliance calls. If the alliance wants my help (and usually only to sit and watch, kill the odd cretin who comes solo through the gates and that is all), then the least I expect is to be invited to the fun part too. It is a 2 way street.

If they have reached 50 there are LOTS of things they can ALSO do, like helping 45+ on their epics and powerlevelling the realm to make us ALL stronger. And I did say "also", it does not have to be a full time job. Savage Conclave is not as visible on RvR as it may be, yet we have a number of 45+ who could do RvR, but are busy helping the others out. Just a thought (and an opportunity to thank them publicly).

And BTW Albs, Hibs: don't get your hopes too high, cash we still have aplenty

Trig here's a tip, play your own game.

I've given nearly 2p for wood, done a number of wood runs & rushed out for defence when needed BUT i'm also sitting on 1p that is MY money and I dont care who asks they dont get it, I refuse wood runs if I dont feel like it and I stay playing my alt even during raids if that's what suits me. Do what YOU need to enjoy the game, the only people who sway my decisions are guild mates who i've known for a long time.

Also I personally have been on 2 prime time relic raids, the first the zone crashed and people re-entered in a steady trickle to be taken out by the uber guards, the 2nd my gphx card crashed and I re-entered to find myself amid reinforcements and was killed in a location with no chance of a rez.

Mass raids really aren't much fun.

redicolous thread, Like I havent been pissed when hibs/albs done raids early in the morning but its in the godamn game and live with it. baaah and yes, it was damn fun for the ones involved because we didnt think we'd take it with that few ppl.

and for arvakr its defended for crying out loud, you need "little" more ppl then. and why was it a "zerg"? because the keep is very close to grallar of course, safety first.

And the force at Arvakr was clearly a zerg. Don't fool yourself, Mids. And why we call it a zerg? See Myshra's reasons. And seeing the Arvakr thingy was at prime time, ofcourse you had zerg there. Just like we Albs have when we raid a relic keep at primetime.

Wow Tbird I'm so excited: we seem to be maintaining a sort of coherent thread on those forums, that is unseen before.

You have exactly nailed it: the solution to still enjoy the game is to go more about playing it for oneself. Doing so is still a lot of fun, probably as much but, as we focus on playing with the guild, or our friends, we loose one dimension to the game which is the realm. It's not necessarily a big deal but it is a bit sad.

Of course we are not there yet, and I hope Azal and his fellow players realise that. I just think that even they are going to be pretty dispirited when they call for help and no-one comes because we are playing for ourselves.

We have a realm that works rather well against the others because we have more cohesion than they have. I don' t konw if we are that much stronger (maybe we are) but I do think our better organisation and the fact that, as a realm, we almost work as a unit helps for the largest part.

This RvR unbalance (at realm level, again) where attacks =fun) are lead by very few but defence (=less fun, expensive, time consuming, not productive in xp or rp) is called on everyone will not help maintain that cohesion and will make Midgard weaker against Albion and Hibernia.

If everyone plays his/her game it's fine. If we want to keep the realm in mind it's not. The current attitude is pushing everyone towards the first option, which you have chosen, which quite a few of my guildies are chosing, and which, frankly, I am about to chose as well... I think it is rather sad.

What a suprise.... I was actually hoping for once the albs wouldnt whinge about how other people play the game, like the Hibs and Mids dont. Well not as much thats for sure.

Stop being so damn selfish and expecting those people that dont play when you do, to not enjoy the game to the max. All realms have raided during both prime time and unsocial hours - get over it.

To those mids that think this is some conspiracy against them, and that they are only invited to give money or defend the realm. Well get off ya arses and organise something.

Last nights raid (which I didnt attend cause I decided to go to sleep at 2am - yes thats 2am, 1 hour after people started suggesting we have a go) everyone not hiding behind /anon was invited from level 35+ It was not some elitiist 48+ crap, who ever really believes this goes on at all needs to get out more. Not all raids are planned days in advance you know.

Sure glad I read the forums as little as I do - cause they give no real indication of what the majority of people do or think ingame.

Sure this is an old subject. But from where I am sitting RVR is about pitting the wits of players against other players. I don't really see any fun in killing npc guards, big deal, wow.

All that raids at unearthly hours do is piss people off about the relics. I could see a time coming when no one would be arsed to go and fight for the things because another realm will come and get them at some unearthly hour.

Aeth's idea about strengthening the uber guards on an underpopulated server is a good one. I was online during the Mid raid as it happens, reaching 50 with a very dedicated group. But apart from ourselves there was only one person over level 40 from the whole of Albion logged on.

So, not bitching at you guys - raid when you want - but I just don't see what it 'proves' other than your alarm clocks work well

I think most people posted because of the high and mighty attitudes on the forums/irc by certain Mids (not all) about relic raids should only be at primetime - there was a load of crap over alb starting a raid at 9am.
Naturally, 5am aint primetime, so expect some banter in IRC at various points

Last few days have been some of the best RvR on Prydwen I've ever seen.

This wasn't a planned raid in the way that the clocks were set. It was people who didn't have anything else to do at the moment and felt like raiding a bit.

We bashed the doors at the str relic and we bashed a door at the power relic...(dont think that the poor mids repaired them yet)

We could succeed the last relic attemd if we didn't pulled all the uber guards...

Weird thing is if alb/hib takes a relic on 4/5/6 am then the mids are complaining and if the mids takes a relic on that time the albs are complaining

Having read through all the posts I thought I would add my own for once.

Firstly I by no means wish to be insulting to anyone this is just how I see it.

Basically there is nothing wrong with taking a relic at 5am, 9am or any time really, its part of the game, after all many battles have been won by attacking whilst the enemy is asleep, it is a valid tactic.

The only problem is that this game is designed to be played by alot of people and the relic raid on Sunday evening was the best fun I have had in ages, hundreds on each side fighting all over the Mid frontier. The battle lasted for hours and eventually we just managed to get the relic home. I wish to thank both the Mids and Albs (and even the few Hibs that turned up) for the great fun. We came away from that fight feeling that we had earned that relic.

This morning when I woke I was horrified to see that somehow the Mids had taken the relic back, it was so hot last night I could not sleep well so I had played until 3:40am having a great skirmish with the hibs at Beo (well held btw, even though we suspect you where fixing the front doors from the room above, naughty). I awoke at about 9am this for me fixed the time of the attack at a stupidly early time.

It seems from the posts that the relic take was spontanious however the planning began at 1 am so you where planning an early morning raid, no getting around that, you planned to attack when we could not defend.

So what has this raid achieved, well Mid now has the Alb power relic back, grats, but you have pissed off alot of people on all sides that fought hard on Sunday night, you have basically cheapened the value of the relics. All you have really done is as Jadow said, gone on a bot killing hunt, if thats all you wanted you should have taken all our keeps not the relic, then today you could have let the others from your realm join in the fun of trying to get the relic back from us (btw I was so looking forward to a bit of keep defense)

So what is am I trying to say, well guys it would be nice to involve everyone in the game, it seems that some people in Mid feel left out by these powerful Mids that take it upon themselves to do the work, attack at a more reasonable time when you actually need the rest of the realm. And just to make the point this idealism applies to all three realms.
