Whereupon all the action will be in alb with mid and hib doubleteaming us to get their relics back.. which will likely result in retrieval by both realms again since I don't think albs have enough numbers to survive sustained doubleteaming either.. meaning we'll have a probably constant state of relic movement, which is a good thing surely?

Stagnant relic status was always a problem in OF, if it keeps moving about it can only be a good thing..
dam agreed to Onigiris last 10 posts on FH wtf is happening whit you Oni :> anyway well said and nerf you :p

Taking a step back here and having just read this whole thread, i have to say it's nice to play a game where RvR seems to work. Sure there are things in the game which can be improved, but that goes for all games.

For all the 'whines' and 'QQs' directed to enemy realms and the discussions about keeps and relics switching owners.. it makes at least me feel that people are quite involved and we wouldn't be if it was a boring game, right? In my opinion, DaoC has the best idea so far about player versus player. And that's what makes me stay with this game.

Sadly i missed this weekend's battles, but it seems everyone had a lot of action and involvement going on, so i'm definately looking forward to throwing myself back into the heat of battle once again! :D

Very nice post tbh. Even though I don't like keep stand-offs and we do find it hmmm, frustrating when outnumbered, it's not like its ever really been any different. It would be nice if there was a way of having an area which could allow some of the more hc people to play a little differently, but perhaps making this area population controlled. There's been some ideas banded about, the problem is it would significantly alter the purpose of the end game.

So yeh daoc did provide good entertainment, full marks for effort, a little less for execution at the moment. ;) The downside could be with all the relics, the game could lack the entertainment as unfortunately numbers will always be a factor. Even if albs are skillful, which in fairness it was very well executed, the frustration for the opponents overcomes their desire to some degree.

It's the nature of a three-sided war, and not much we can do unless you want a 4th realm introduced.

that would rock actually. Halbgard! Home of the Anibonegist. Insta life-tapping, heal-pet spamming, nuke shrooming tank.

this game has never been about skill, it's about which classes are best and who has the most people. (in that order)

if you can defend a keep with less people then we can it's cause you have some better defense classes (friend caster specline with pbaoe and shrooms)
if we win a keep it's because we have reavers and numbers

in the end it's only midgard that's royaly screwed...(sorry guys you'll get on top when warlock is introduced)

but remember: if you win, it's not cause you have skill, its because mythic made your classes better for that situation
in general not one ream is more skilled then the other... retards are everywhere and imo evenly distributed over the realms

yes that is why i dont understand the thing about good work albion, i am a hib and i agree animist can be powerful in Defense but if you feel that you did a good job taking back the relic you might wanna take a minute and think what made it possible.

P.S shrooms from animist have 1000 range and take 2.5 powerbars to get 15 up, a reaver kills them with TWF3 / rr5 or banelord 8 only without usage of power, them combined together kill people.

I'm not that experienced in RvR warfare, but I had a tremendous time on sunday!
I joined the battle around 2pm CET. Albion had just recoverd Dun Da Behn and could port to Hibernia. Unfortunately the battle group fell quiet at that moment. 70+ in the battlegroup but barely 2fg active.

Gazon took things into hand and tried to get the 2-3fgs fighting for Ailline towers. He hoped that if we had Alline 1, we could hold out and more Albs would become active and join the battle. Luckily for Alboin we kept banging our heads on the same towers while hibs were repelling all attacks and cutting porting.
In the end exactly happened what we hoped for. Once the mids were seriously bashing on Scat and a small group held out in Ailline 3, our numbers increased dramatically and we relieved Ailline 3, took 1 and bashed the gates of the keep.

great RvR, though I mostly drove rams around because I'm a useless Paladin :)

Ans gratz to the hibs for holding out so long!

so far i know the power relics changed owner at least 2 times per week the months before NF, albs made early morning raids, hibs got em back, repeat with mid getting em atleast and hibs with str relics.

and to all people saying its payback for then mid was double-teamed for 3 weeks, that mean we hibs still got 2 years and 49 weeks to both albs and mids for double teaming :)

and some people should read what people said before posting, like belomer, doubt u read VidX post about how albs have Ail completly surrounded with no chance for hibs to defend compared to scath :)

Stop this nonsense about Hibs being double teamed constantly in OF. Everyone knew Emain was the arena to fight in. That was also the case on servers where hibs dominated. When people took the DC' keeps it was to have the guard spam information and RP bonuses that gave. Not to attack hibs per se.

Emain is no longer the arena and the RvR is much more spread out (good thing).

Now we just need the following:
Mid strength relic returned to Midgard to improve morale.
Mid and Hib start double teaming Albs on a constant basis.

i have seen thanes 2shoot shrooms with hammer, cant say the same for reavers, and you can only counter reaver bomb by using FZ or run away from him, which is both not a option if youre talking about keep warfare, dead road there servant of arthur

You know how simple it is? If you can't seletc the shrooms, can't get LOS you can still kill them with any ground target based attack. Say volley, GTAOE, ... Whats the problem with it? There are old scouts who can help if they are around, fotm scouts who can leech and get RP quickly and own... and earth wizards to be ignored by albion so have a slow time with leveling, and get bored before they would be able to sort out shroom problems. But a few GTAOE casters assistig can be a nasty surprise for everyone. Albion has many speccs that can be usefull and we would have enough people to have them on keeptakes, but noone is willing to help them, grp with them, etc. because it is easier to post whine threads here than to grp with earth wizards and make sure they can reach the level needed in RVR...

Provided there's people demented enough to roll earth wizards, the greatest service albs can do them is to make them quit early or respec.

Any wizard who goes split-spec will be seriously gimped. The only spells worth having are in the high 40s.

I would hardly call a 18 spec in earth an "earth wizard".

Of course a wizard could spec earth to 30 or something and beat enchantment enchanters on the gimpness scale.

yea because mids did only take DC in OF, what about scath (PE took it all the time), BO taking ail, maelstrom taking bold etc. nah we wasnt double teamed we did only had u camping DL half the time :)

How bout...

47 Fire (Only thing you miss is last bolt, still nuke like a god)

25 Earth (2:nd GTAE and a decent bolt 162 delve (To make up for loosing lvl 50 one ni fire))

8 Ice (Lowest PBAE If you need to interrupt in a tower when defending it could be useful ^^)

With that you would have...

219 Delve nuke
273 D Bolt
239 D Bolt
162 D Bolt
92 D GTAE
Decent DoT
AE Root

And some other things but will probably not get used...
Think that would be a decent spec for keepwar as well as ope field.

the ice gtaoe is at 7, and it doesn't depop unless it hits. Which it doesn't really do that much as it's a lvl 7 spell

if you wanne go 3bolt spec id suggest
41fire 31earth 7ice

3x bolts: 206D, 239D, 273D enough to 3 shot any stealther or caster. so it's a great keepsiege spec. it's a bit less viable in groups as you don't nuke like gods fiery son on earth...

It still disturbs cating even if resisted tho right? And 8 spec is just the leftover points, hehe

I thought not about a 3 bolt spec, but a spec that would be a bit better in keeps (get a higher GTAE) and still be viable in open field, thats why I left the highest delve nuke in the spec. :)

well that 3bolt spec isn't very viable in the field. ít severly gimps your dmg as you spec is entirely directed to lots of dmg in a few seconds (hence good in keep fights) but bolts in the openfield aren't that great. they're nice to open with or take out a caster. but 700dmg (no crits) every 1.5 second is really what you want.

i still prefer my 50fire 19earth 7ice spec though as im a dmg junkie.
screenshots don't show dps, but they show when you crit for 1700+ ^^

Yeah I understand what you mean, wizzys are made to do damage and not much else, so if you wanted util youd play a different class ;)

However someone said that it wasnt viable or something to spec higher than 18 in earth. (cba to find exactly what he said, but it was something about totally gimping char if speccing higher earth than 18)

So thats why I even mentioned the spec I did, I think that looks plenty viable for both keep and open field as you have the highest nuke but still get a little better gtae for shrooms and to otherwise annoy ppl inside the keeps ^^

And that I even mentioned the 3:rd earthbolt was that I assume that boltrange damagewise it would make up for loosing last specbolt in fire, difference being you have to blast off 3 bolts instead of 2 to kill someone.
So you dont really loose anything.
