In your 'night out in rvr' you didn't take into account that groups (or my groups, at least) get added on more, than that they get clean fights.

I'm not trying to be picky, but how many times per night do you think Alaron will run into a group with a similar setup to his own? Exactly. Apart from the fact that said groups are likely not to have speed, therefore cannot cover much ground, they are not as numerous as FG's/stealther groups and such, especially in Hib/Mid (proportionally Alb seems to run a lot more half groups and duoes than either other realm, since they often give up trying to construct an opted group, as it takes a lot more effort in Alb, than in other realms duo to the spread of utility on classes).

Hibs .... Lost count now but at least 4 opted groups that run quite regular, and a couple semi regular.


Mids .... Mael and HoS + some other group (random i dunno, but they zerg about opted at 11am)


Albs .... Evita group (enemy say it shit and random so guess shouldnt include it, run a couple times a week), PE (Once maybe twice a week), and thats about it.


So right there i would say hibs opted outnumber alb opted in rvr.....

and a opted group = 2+ semi balanced PuG groups, more if they a good group, so alb are outgunned by enemy even if not outmanned

An opinion, like your own posts you mean? As for evidence, note that I'm talking about the number of active "gank groups" in each realm, not the whole RvR population. Still--statistics on Duskwave (used to) show that Hibernia (a) has the same amount of active L50s as Midgard (with Albion still coming out on top), and (b) consistently earned the most RPs of all the three realms for a long time period. (This is a point of some debate, so let me forestall any silly remarks--the average skill of the various realm populations is equal on account of there being no demographical difference among them, so any discrepancies arise from RvR population size differences.)

Furthermore, (c) my own empirical knowledge (gained through a combination of a few sample RvR nights the last few months as well as monitoring of this forum and others) indicates that Hibs groups are in majority (even if there has been an upswing of Mids out recently). On a typical night in RvR, there would be 1-2 Alb groups, 2-4 Mid groups, and 2-6 Hib groups out running.

The old "woe is me, Hibernia is underpopulated" is as old as time itself, and no longer holds any water these days.

It's really very easy to get speed in a group nowadays as half the mage classes have it, and you don't need a similar setup in order to have fun fights, or with a little luck, to win.

excal/hib is not the same as prydwen/hib there are LOTS of opted groups who will flame you to hell and back everytime you add on them.

with cluster numbers of opted fg´s will dramatically increase in cluster atleast for hib, so i guess its the randoms who will have no more fun soon.

Its already like that with some groups on hib/pryd & im part of a fixed grp thats just started & ive also been in a fixed grp a year or so back, I just dont see the point in /whining when we get added on by others, Its RvR & its gunna happen alot, if people cant handle it & they gunna QQ everytime, DAoC aint for them no more.

Most of the time people that do add, weather it be FG's/mini/randoms/pugs whatever dont do it purposly, they see enemy & attack. When in opted grps its alot easier knowing when to engage enemy or leave them if they are fighting other hibs due to software such as vent/TS, our bard will say Leave & straight away we all know to stay /stuck & we continue but in random/pug grps its much more confusing, as soon you see enemy 1st instinct is to un-stick & start fighting.

Im looking forward to 8v8 with cluster afterall its the main reason why we put so much effort into getting an opted grp running. But when other hibby's add i aint gunna be QQ'n... instead i will look on the brightside that the enemy were killed & i will continue to have fun \o/
