Despite my previous comment, it seems Alaron is actually a really nice guy, despite his annoying playstyle..So I am willing to suck it up and congratulate him on RR10!

Also despite Wizards being a bit..meh, they have always been a pretty cool class in concept :D

haha, yea good excuse :twak: Bainshee has hardly any utility, maybe I should run around with a di3 bot xD

It wasn't an excuse, I gave you the reason why it's stuck to me. If you want to do the same, feel free to do so. I won't be the one whining about it.

Grats, Alaron! :) Seems you are a decent guy, even though you have a nasty tendency to double-bolt one of my casters to death everytime we come within clipping range from Oriens Bridge. You remind me of Erodafira somehow. ;)

I always imagine Alaron - and the other fire-wizzies as Beavis and Butthead :<

Grats on RR10 - utter retarded playingstyle tho. Comment about 'My class has no utility so I run with DI3-cleric + bodyguard' made me laugh.

No idea why wizard needs utility with the way you play - all you do is run to a fight and F8 + bolt/nuke.

Alaron ran a lot with AoD and earned his fair share of rps in a fg.

Not that I think there's anything wrong with running with a DI-bot. It's not like a wiz would be able to stun or mezz anyone and run away. Besides, Rychard and Enaya used to make such a great couple sitting in towers. ;)

I still remember when we moved with Alaron and he managed to kill one enemy caster before a mez landed from both group. Like the Warlocks now. He dinged us many RR with us and i liked to play with him becouse he is a very very thought wizard and one of the best i seen.
On lyoness we know some RR11 wizard but well. this guys are far from the good players and far back from Alaron.

Grats Alaron. You are one of the best caster i seen in my daoc history...

ps:i thinking to make rvr group on prydwen. i want to debuff for you :)

i'm aware of that, but would love some fair fights instead being bolted by rr9(now rr10) wizard while fighting another 20 albs or killing him when he doesnt have a chance to qc back :p

No idea why wizard needs utility with the way you play - all you do is run to a fight and F8 + bolt/nuke.

Let's split that up:

"Playing a caster with a dedicated bg'er (not a bot! <hugs Mac>) is utterly retarded." -- I'm not even going to comment on that.

"Playing a caster with a DI3-cleric is utterly retarded." -- Fire wizards are the only bolting class without nearsight. My cleric can cure NS to make up for Mythic's oversight. As for DI itself, does it matter if it's on a passive or active cleric? The ability is incredibly useful when you have to face stunning/debuffing casters.

"All you do is run to a fight and F8 + bolt/nuke". -- My primary targets are enemy casters, who are usually not in F8 range. Bolting/nuking is (surprise!) the only thing we can do! (check a fire wizard's spell list). Yes, we have root, but you don't root casters, pets usually resist and tanks are immune to root most of the time (sorc AE rooting, tanks using charge).

Now I ask you, what is so utterly retarded about my reasoning?

You're basically all flaming Alaron for daring to play the game casually.

Not everybody is prepared to exclude friends and guildies from groups just because they do not have the right characters/ml's/ra's.

Not everybody is prepared to wait around for an hour while they assemble a decent group.

Not everybody sees FG vs FG fights as the be all and end all of this game. Alaron has been around for an awfully long time. He has played this game in all its incarnations, from being a random alb in OF, to running around and prawning everyone in the AoD group, and now he plays with small groups of friends. Alaron has adapted with this game. NF was introduced to encourage larger fights and to remove emphsis from the FG vs FG arena.

Alaron does more than his share for this realm in defending keeps and towers.

Oh and FYI Gamah, I think you'll find that wizards have the least utlility of all the classes. To play one, to stay alive, and earn your share of RP's for your group is not the easiest thing to do and in the various fights I have fought along Alaron's side he has played his wizard to perfection.

Grats Alaron :worthy:

Hardly, but since the rest of Albion and most of the other realms all like insta RvR around Beno, it just so happens that they tend to be fighting in the same area. When grped with Alaron he does not follow the zerg but runs around as a group of 3-6 people, if he bumps into enemies he attacks them, quite rightly without regard as to whether they are already engaged by other Albs.

If you want insta RvR then you have to accept that everyone will be fighting in the same zone, sorry guys but thats the way it works :touch:

Well said, Gelid. ;) Can't do much about the Puppets of DAoC, they crop up in every game.

The use of a DI bot is like a BB in a way, not how it was designed but wont stop people from using it. Good on Alaron in my opinion and grats on RR10 mate.

Wizards don't exactly have a lot of options regarding playstyle. That DI cleric is there to increase survivability. Which group doesn't run with at least a DI 1 healer these days?

OT: bolting fleeing shield classes isn't actually such a bad idea. Shield only works when you're facing me. I know I've bolted shield users by accident (zzz at the way mouse targetting works now).
