Ever since i got this TFT screen, minor and major problems have been coming and going. Altho this time i dont think its necessarily down to the TFT monitor.
Last week sometime, i asked about seeing if i could make the monitor a bit brighter because in games dark areas were extremely dark to a point it was *too* dark.
I was recommended to try out Powerstrip, which i did, and i adjusted the Gamma accordingly, which sorted out the problem a few days ago. Excellent, so i was finally starting to enjoy the games on the monitor as it was crystal clear.
I leave my PC on 24/7 if i can help it, no problems in the past so it wasnt much, anyhoo when i woke up yesterday, i turned on my monitor and it was awful, much like the (As i keep quoting it) Commodore64 and its loading screen when playing a game, multicoloured lines which was going all over the show.
I turned off the PC, and turned it back on, it didnt work still, it got past loading up WindowsXP then just as it was going on it went to a black screen which then gave the funny screen again.
I went into Safemode and removed the drivers for my Graphics Card (Which was at the time, Nvidia 61.77) then WindowsXP loaded flawlessly, not a problem. I installed the 61.77 Drivers again, and as soon as Windows loaded, problems kicked in once more.
I then shut off the PC and reseated the Graphics Card, it was a bit dusty inside the case so i cleaned out all of the dust and everything was sound, the problems didnt occur then.
Until last night when i was playing Counterstrike, for an unknown reason the system just locked up (With a few lines of fuzzyness line the Commodore), i reset the computer and the problems kicked in again.
Went thru the routine, Safemode, unistall Drivers, reinstall - Nothing. I went "Driverless" into Windows and downloaded the latest drivers from the Nvidia website hoping they would solve the problem (66.93) but alas, it did not.
I turned off the PC again, and reseated the Graphics Card, expecting it to work but for some reason it just got worse - As soon as the POST Boot finished, the system went up the fritz like the Commodore again.
I just left the PC off for a few mins by unplugging the power and everything seemed fine, the drivers went in, and it felt like there was no problem at all.
Am i right in thinking this is possible Graphics Card problem? When i was able to check the Nvidia Temperature, it said:
GPU Core: 57c
Ambient: 35c
I was also just thinking then, could it possibly be the memory starting to play up, any one have problems like this before?
I checked google for graphics card overheating but it didnt really pull anything up
