graphics card Compatability with DX9

Teh Wife, is interested in playing evercrack II when it comes out. It says you need a dx9 compatible gfx card how the hell do you tell, in the machine is an nvidia geforce3 ti500, Dells own I think. Other system specs are 2.0G pIV, 512 mb RDRAM usual Dell stuff.

Any help would be appreciated, I have downloaded Directx 9.0b and the dxdiag says its all hunky dory , but I am still not sure

most gfx cards will work with 9.0b just that some of the older ones like yours will be able to show all the nice effects.

The FX range of Nvidia cards, the ati 9800 and 9600 range support the full range of features in 9.0b .. evercrack will still run on a gf3 just a bit slower and not so pretty.
