Grabbing games from an existing phone

Something's just struck me whilst looking at a new phone to upgrade at the end of my contract next month.

I've spent in the region of £60 on games for my current phone (a k700i) - and from what I can see from google etc, that's where they're going to stay and there doesn't seem to be a method to copy them onto a PC or another phone.

Am I right in assuming this is impossible (damned cheating gits) or is there any software around that can do this?

If those are Java games, then you should be able to use a phone browser (sorry - not familiar with Sony software) to copy off the JAD/JAR files that they were installed from. Of course they'll probably only work on another Sony phone....

I did a quick test on my K750i using Mac OSX's Bluetooth browser feature. When browsing the phones memory, it all gets wrapped up and you can only access the media folders. When browsing the memory card (over Bluetooth) you can access everything including Java apps (Opera Mini, in the case of this test).

However, since the K700 has no memory card, but with the two phones being otherwise quite similar, I fear that Bluetooth based browsing will probably have the similar masking of Applications/Games. I couldn't see any option to send applications over Bluetooth either.

Could be worth hunting out FMA (Float's Mobile Agent) for Windows though, that used to get me access to a lot of phone content over Bluetooth before I switched™.

Cheers folks, I'll have a look. Just because I like a challenge, I might have a read of the small print you get with these games etc and my phones contract and shout at o2/Sony or whoever some (may or may not get any response but it doesn't hurt to try). It seems rather like theft to me - like buying a game you can only ever use with the PC you currently have.
