Least it'd stop people getting bottled by pub glasses.

Ofc they'll get knifed instead as people will subsitute glass for knifes.

Hmmm!

A Maximum Wage is something I would support.

The legislation behind it however, would be near-impossible and economically, it could do more harm than good. It has always appeared to me a theory that can not be turned into a practicality.

maximum wage for everyone or just for exmployees and employers? What about (for example) writers and the income from their booksales.. is that also a wage? like you said, it will be turned into a practicality. There goes your main incentive to work ;)

I'm not sure really Urg.

I think the problems that exist with certain individuals earning obscene amounts of money come from the private sector in its entirety however and influencing that will be hard and damaging.

You can't tell football sponsor no.1 he can't give Manchester United 3 million to put up his billboards around the stadium without entering a new government reign of control. You can't say that United aren't allowed to use some of that funds to pay Park 40k a week.

They really need to 'reduce the scale' in some way though between those at the top and those at the bottom. You have your basic unqualified checkout worker on 900 a month say. You have your graduate employee on 25-30k a year and you have your experienced, older gentleman on 50k a year. Then you move off the realms of realistic incomes to footballers taking in 3-4 million on wage alone. You further move up the realms to those taking in billions a year.

Think about the loss of income tax if you have max wages. its just doesnt work

Did you reads the page propley?
The glasses they will substitute in are near on impossible to break. They tried to blow them up in brianiac and it didnt happen.
If anything they are more environmentally friendly.

no i didnt read it,

But to use a finite resource like oil for this is silly when sand and silicon is much more infinite

dont you think ?

If they are that indestructable what happens when they come to be thrown away ?

Why would they throw away a drinking vessel for no reason at all?
it doesnt break
it cleans

what reason is there is throw these away? ive got a couple ive had for about 3 years.
secondly, how many of these vessels do you think they will make for british pubs to make any sort of dent in the amount of oil in the planet?!

Apparently the average pint glass lasts about 3 months in busy pub, due to it being broken or scratched so bad it doesn't look too good, but the plastic ones they say will last even less time, cos they will get even more scratched than glass

disregarding the scratching, the plastic glass will last the lifetime of the pub its in. im not against these plastic glasses, ive used them loads of times. sometimes its fun to chuck them at someoen and watch them shit a brick thinking they are gonna get smashed in the face.
but they shouldnt be forced in to use. its like that shite with the lightbulbs.

you think they dont scratch ? who wants to drink out of a scratched up glass .. you think adding every little it doesnt matter to the oil depletion doesnt add to a significant amount ..

you think when the average pub gets x number of glasses nicked a month that they wont be replaced ? by using more oil to make moer plastic ...

The whole idea of kyoto etc is to reduce or oil usage not increase it .. this will increase it

needlessly

imo

you know i dont know the exact amounts or differences .. but you need oil to heat and combine and make the product as well as being used in the product unlike glass where gas / oil is just used to make the heat

so i sumize that more is needed for a plastic 'glass'

Do you know enough to contradict me ? and prove i am wrong ?

About bloody time! I NEVER understood why glass is used in places where people drink, it created as hazard and can be used as a potential weapon to cut and blind, Plastic is just common bloody sense!

Oh and I’m basing my opinion on the hazards generated by broken class and the injurys sustained to my mates by glassing, often for COMPLETE STRANGERS for NO reason!

If you can’t ban booze it makes sense to try and minimize the risks that an idiot can do on the spur of the moment. You would not belive the amount of tards who go out looking for a fight!
